AI video trends this week: new ones to star in
The new AI video trends this week, the week of 17–23 Oct 2026, are the AI hair dye filter, the pet clip Single Ladies Dog, the Jean Phil battle round Gang Gang Dance, the leaf-top sprint Banana Tree Run and Money Flex. They're five of the 296 trends that went live on this site in those seven days, and each one opens with a free preview of you in the scene. Below: what each of the big ones is, when it started and its latest dated number, then every other trend from the week, by the day it went live.

Hair Dye Filter: one brush stroke, a new colour
One stroke of a dye brush at your roots turns your whole head a new colour in about a second, while your face and your haircut stay exactly as they are. Burgundy is the colour of the TikTok wave; ours also does platinum blonde, copper and pastel pink.
Hair colour reveals have been a TikTok habit since 2018, but the AI video version is new this month. MakeViral dates the TikTok sound most clips use to 2 Oct 2026, the clips spread from 11 to 16 Oct, and by MakeViral's counts #hairdyefilter had 407 videos and 6 million views on 16 Oct. Only want to choose a colour? Hair Color Shades, live since 22 Oct, shows your face in 8 colours side by side.
Single Ladies Dog: your pet takes the middle spot
Your dog or cat dances dead centre in a Single Ladies routine on a dark studio floor, tossing its head on every beat while two dancers whip their hair behind it. It's the whole animal, coat and markings included.
@king_odiee posted Odie, a long-haired dachshund, doing the routine on 4 Oct 2026. It had about 45.2 million plays and 5.6 million likes when we read it on 22 Oct, the biggest single clip of any trend that went live here this week. Two days after the post, Odie's owner showed it was made from one photo of the dog and a reference dance video. On 22 Oct it was peaking and slowing. More like it on AI pet trends.
Gang Gang Dance: the Jean Phil battle round
A dancer in a tweed jacket and a blond bob freestyles at a hip-hop battle with a completely straight face: knee pops, a limp wrist, a stare at the lights, a low crouch. The track is Chef Boy's "Gang Gang Gangland", and people search it as the Jean Phil dance.
@unsvng posted the AI clip on 23 Sep 2026, crediting the Belgian battle dancer Doyah, whose real round from LINE UP Season 11 in South Korea it follows beat for beat. It had about 44.1 million plays and 3.9 million likes on 22 Oct, but it has gone flat: the newest recasts we found are from 13 and 14 Oct. New here this week, not on TikTok.
Banana Tree Run: a sprint across the leaf tops
You run along the tops of a banana plantation, leaping from leaf to giant leaf as if they were solid ground, while the camera tracks you side-on at treetop height. Pick your pet and your dog or cat does the run instead.
It's the youngest wave on this page. @big.e.ug posted the CapCut AI reel that started it on 15 Oct 2026 (1.8 million views when we read it on 20 Oct), how-tos followed on 16 Oct, and the CapCut template had 203,900 uses by 18 Oct, per MakeViral. A slower walking version had been around since 4 Feb 2026; October added the full sprint.
Money Flex: a pile of cash, thrown at the lens
You, or your dog standing on its hind legs, hug a long chain of banded bundles, heave the whole pile at a phone lying on a dresser, rip the band off one stack and fan the bills out. The money is plain prop cash.
The earliest post we found is a CapCut template post on TikTok on 9 Oct 2026. Later that day an Instagram account posted the AI dog version (362K likes on 20 Oct), and a TikTok repost of the dog passed 5.5 million plays. By 17 Oct a CapCut template of the routine showed 431,900 uses, by MakeViral's count.
Unforgettable Car: the 24 car-park reveal
A man in a white headscarf and robe flicks a red 2 and a red 4 at the camera, a hand swipes across the lens, and when it clears a grey sports coupé is parked behind him. The car is the clip's car, not yours: you get his place in front of it.
@y0kun posted it on 2 Sep 2026 over a cut of French Montana and Swae Lee's "Unforgettable". It had about 4.4 million plays on 22 Oct, still adding about 0.15 million a day. Car owners copied it with their own cars in late September; people without one started making it with AI in early October. More on AI car trends.
Cheba Man: Tecktonik on a red-lit stage
One dancer alone on a low red-lit stage at a night party runs a fast Tecktonik arm routine to Benny Benassi's "Love Is Gonna Save Us", while the whole crowd below films him on their phones.
Sasha Cheba (@cheba_man) posted the clip on 24 May 2026; it had about 17.0 million plays on 22 Oct. The AI recasts on the same stage began on 4 Oct, and a Higgsfield version from 9 Oct had about 504K plays on 22 Oct. Still early and slow: the remake wave is small so far.
Abra Kadabra: snap, and someone appears
You dance alone in a bright living room, snap your fingers toward the doorway, and on the snap a friend, your pet or your own twin dashes in and lands beside you. Then you dance the routine in sync.
The dance is a human trend on a Brazilian funk hook: duo reels of friends went big in late August 2026, and on 17 Oct MakeViral counted 485 million views on #abrakadabra. The AI two-photo version only arrived on 17 Oct. Our video has no sound, so add the funk sound from TikTok's library when you post. For more two-person ideas, see trends to do with a friend.
Just added: Fergie Baby and White Chicks
Fergie Baby is Harlem rapper Fergie Baby's walk out of a chain-link park gate and down a tree-lined path, rapping straight at the camera (he's not Fergie the singer). He posted it on 26 Sep 2026; it had about 479.8K plays on 22 Oct. AI copies with other faces started appearing around 12 Oct, per MakeViral.
White Chicks puts two of you in the car scene from the 2004 comedy: the driver sings "A Thousand Miles" with total conviction while the passenger, holding a tiny fluffy dog, side-eyes them in horror. Its AI wave peaked in July 2026, but it's still being made: a pug version from 2 Oct had about 197K plays on 22 Oct. Good for couples and friends.
Santa Transformation: the seasonal one
A swirl of glittering snow turns you into Santa in 10 seconds: red velvet suit, hat and a full white beard, with your own face kept so people can tell it's you. There's a Buff Santa version that ends on a double-biceps flex.
It's an app effect that comes back every December rather than one viral clip: Pollo AI's Santa transformation page has been in the Internet Archive since 21 Mar 2025. On 21 Oct 2026 Google finished "turn me into santa" with "ai", "app" and "claus". Expect it to climb through November. The rest of the season is on AI Christmas videos.
Is new here the same as new on TikTok?
No, and the dates above say which is which. This page counts a trend as new when it went live on Jump on the Trend between 17 and 23 Oct 2026. On TikTok, some are much older: Cheba Man's clip is from May, White Chicks' AI wave from July, Gang Gang Dance from September. The newest waves on TikTok in this batch are Banana Tree Run (from 15 Oct), the hair dye filter (11–16 Oct) and the AI take on Abra Kadabra (17 Oct).
Most of what went live on 18 and 19 Oct are one-photo templates: effects such as aging, flying or turning into a statue, built from a single photo rather than copied from one viral clip. They're grouped on AI video templates. For what's spreading on each app, see TikTok AI trends and Instagram AI trends.

How this page is made
Every Monday the list is rebuilt from the trends that went live on the site in the seven days before, and the sections are rewritten for the ones that matter most that week. Between Mondays, new trends still join the site every day: they show on all trends and in the month's section of AI video trends 2026.
Every number on this page comes from the trend's own page, with the date we read it and who counted it. Counts credited to MakeViral are that site's own figures, which we haven't checked post by post. We don't give a views figure where we haven't got a dated one.
Questions about this week's AI trends
What are the new AI video trends this week?
For the week of 17–23 Oct 2026: the AI hair dye filter, Single Ladies Dog, Gang Gang Dance, Banana Tree Run, Money Flex and Abra Kadabra, with Fergie Baby and White Chicks added on 23 Oct. 296 trends went live here that week in all; every one is listed above.
Which AI trend is biggest right now?
Of this week's trends, the biggest single clip is Single Ladies Dog: @king_odiee's dachshund had about 45.2 million plays on TikTok when we read it on 22 Oct 2026. Gang Gang Dance is close (about 44.1 million plays for @unsvng's clip the same day) but has stopped growing. The fastest new one is Banana Tree Run: its CapCut template had 203,900 uses by 18 Oct, three days after the first big post, per MakeViral.
How often is this page updated?
Every Monday; the next refresh is on 26 Oct 2026. New trends join the site daily in between: see AI video trends 2026 for them as they arrive.
Are these AI trends free to try?
The preview is free: add one photo and see a still of yourself in the scene in about a minute. The full video is 100 credits ($6.99), charged only when it's delivered, and the credits come back by themselves if it fails.
Where can I find older AI trends?
Every trend on the site is on all trends, and AI video trends 2026 dates this year's month by month, with 2024 and 2023 pages for earlier years.
