What is the Cursed Possession AI trend?

Cursed Possession is a 10-second AI horror clip with you as the one who's cursed: you sit calmly in a dim room, the lamp flickers, your eyes flood solid black, fine cracks creep across your face and a smile spreads far too wide while you stare down the lens. Here you add one photo, get a free preview still of yourself in the lamplit room in about a minute, then make the 10-second video in 1080p for 100 credits ($9.90).

It's a staple of Halloween effect menus. Pollo AI sells it as The Cursed (going by its search listing; the page itself blocked our reader), Morphic has both an AI The Cursed and an AI Possessed effect, Higgsfield has Horror Face and Black Tears, and aieffect.art's Halloween list from 18 Jul 2026 includes a Creepy Devil Smile. People search for it as "ai cursed videos", "ai creepy smile generator", "ai horror face generator" and "black eyes filter tiktok" (Google autocomplete, 18 Oct 2026). Halloween falls on Saturday 31 Oct 2026.

Ours is the quiet version, and that's on purpose. Some of the vendor effects go big: Pollo's listing describes The Cursed with a sickly green tint, sores and a 180-degree head twist. We left out the head-spin, the gore and anything borrowed from a famous film. What's left is the part that actually unsettles people: a face that is clearly yours, perfectly still, slowly going wrong. There's also a Black tears version, where ink-black tears run down your cheeks instead of the cracks and the smile.

Is the Cursed Possession trend still growing?

Seasonal, and a menu staple rather than one viral post. Five effect sites carry a version of it (Pollo, Higgsfield, Morphic, AI Effect, and Magic Hour's Creepy Guy Smiling face swap), and autocomplete shows searches for cursed AI videos, creepy AI smiles and black-eye filters. We found no news coverage or single origin clip, and our radar doesn't score it yet. Expect it to build toward Halloween on 31 Oct and fade in early November, like most Halloween looks.

How to do the Cursed Possession trend: by hand or in one click

By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.

Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.

Cursed Possession mixes

  • Cursed
  • Black tears: The black tears version, replacing the cracks and the smile: after the eyes flood black, thick glossy black tears well up and run slowly down both cheeks in two or three clean streaks catching the lamplight; the face stays still and unsmiling, gaze locked on the lens, no cracks; the tears stop at the jaw. Ink-black only, never red.

Photo tips for Cursed Possession

  • One sharp photo of you, face to the camera and well lit, chest up or closer: the whole clip is a close-up of your face.
  • A calm, neutral face works best: the creep comes from the smile arriving later.
  • If you wear glasses, keep them on for the photo. Take off sunglasses and hats.
  • One person per photo: your own, or an adult's who said yes, never a child's.

Who to cast

  • You (the classic)
  • The friend who's always the first to get scared
  • Your partner, with their yes
  • The sibling who swears they don't believe in curses

Cursed Possession FAQ

Is there a free Cursed Possession AI video generator?

You can preview yourself in the Cursed Possession scene free. The full 1080p video costs 100 credits, charged only when it's ready. Credits come in packs from $9.90 for 100 and work on any trend.

Which app makes the Cursed Possession AI video?

Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.

How many photos do I need for Cursed Possession?

One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 1. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.

What happens to my photos?

They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.

What is the AI cursed possession trend?

A short horror clip made from one photo: you sit still in a dim room, the lamp flickers, your eyes go solid black, cracks spread across your face and a too-wide smile creeps in. It works because the face stays plainly yours the whole time.

Is it free?

The preview is free: add a photo and see a still of yourself in the lamplit room in about a minute. The 10-second video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p.

How do I do the cursed AI trend?

Add one clear, front-facing photo, check the free preview, then make the video. There's no prompt to write: the room, the flicker, the black eyes, the cracks and the sound are built in. Post it with a caption like "something's wrong with the lights".

What's the Black tears version?

Same room, same flicker and black eyes, but instead of cracks and a smile, thick ink-black tears run slowly down your cheeks. It's the look Higgsfield sells as Black Tears and people search as "black tears ai". Pick it before you make the video.

Is this a black eyes filter?

Not a live one. Live black-eye filters on TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat change your eyes on camera in real time. This is a finished 10-second video made from a photo, with the cracks, the smile, the lighting and the sound done for you.

Does my head spin or does it get gory?

No. Some cursed effects add a spinning head, sores or vomiting; ours doesn't. No blood, no wounds, no horns, nothing from a famous horror film. The scare is a still face slowly going wrong.

Is it different from the Demon or Clown transformations?

Yes. There's no makeup, no horns, no fire and no costume. You stay in your own clothes in an ordinary room, and only your eyes and skin change. If you want face paint and a carnival, try the clown one; for a full monster, try the werewolf or vampire.

Can I do it with a friend or my pet?

It's one person for now: the close-up on a single face is what makes it work. Make one each and post them side by side. Use your own photo or an adult's who said yes, never a child's.

Will it still look like me?

That's the point of it. The clip stays a close-up of your face from start to finish, keeping your hair, facial hair and glasses; only the eyes turn black and the skin cracks. Use a sharp, well-lit photo for the best likeness.
