The Jawn trend the original, the song and the AI cat
The Jawn trend, also searched as "That's the Jawn", copies an 11-second TikTok posted on 16 Jul 2026 by Monika Pilon, a Québec actress: she sways on a backyard lawn with a drink in her hand, pulling faces while she waits for the drop in Jerri's dance track "The JAWN". It had 18.7M plays when we read it on 16 Oct 2026. One-photo AI versions, of people and of a cat, followed from August. Three months on it's a late, catch-up trend, and most of Google's suggestions for it are now about the song. You can't make it on Jump on the Trend yet. What is the Jawn trend?
It's a sketch about one kind of person on the dance floor: the one who stands around doing very little until the beat drops. The clip is shot on a sunny day in a backyard, with a white shed, a wooden fence and a pot of red flowers behind her. She's in a black tank top and a floral skirt, holding a glass of something orange at her waist. Through the opening seconds she sways on the spot, one arm swinging, face scrunched up as if she can hardly stand the wait. The text on screen and her #waitforit tag spell out the joke: it's all about waiting for the drop.
She posted it as "On the dancefloor!" and never called it the Jawn. The name came from the track playing under it, Jerri's "The JAWN", so people search for the Jawn dance or That's the Jawn, and MakeViral's template page also calls it the wait-for-the-drop dance. On 16 Oct 2026 Google's suggestions for it included "the jawn dance original video", "the jawn ai dance" and "the jawn dance cat".

Want the Jawn trend here?
It fits what we make: one real 11-second clip, one adult, filmed in a backyard, with no film or TV footage. If we add it, your face and hair go onto the dancer on the lawn, while her outfit, the drink, the backyard, the moves and the clip's own sound (Jerri's track) stay as they are. A pet version could follow from the AI cat clip further down this page. We'd never make a baby or child version. It isn't here yet because each new trend waits until we've found the exact source clip, checked it, and seen people posting their own versions. Tap Ask for it to send it to our daily review, and leave your email if you'd like a note when it goes live.

The Jawn song: who is Jerri, and what does "jawn" mean?
The track is "The JAWN" by Jerri, a bass-heavy dance track at 136 BPM, out since 29 May 2026. Jerri is credited as both producer and lyricist, and the release is licensed from Boom Records to Create Music Group. Little else about Jerri is public: we found no interview, no label biography and no hometown. Apple Music lists three other Jerri singles from 2026: "Loop", "Bad Habits" and a remix of "Loop" with Alok.
"Jawn" is Philadelphia slang. Dictionary.com, which added it in September 2023, defines it as a word for something or someone you don't know or don't need to name, and says it may be a local form of "joint". Wiktionary dates it to the 1990s and gives a thing, a place or a person as its meanings. Read that way, "that's the jawn" is close to "that's the one". We don't reprint the lyrics; the song's streaming pages carry them.
Is the Jawn AI? It depends which part you mean
Google's suggestions ask this many ways: "is the jawn ai music", "is the jawn ai generated", "is jerri the jawn ai". There are three separate answers.
- The original dance: not AI. It's Monika Pilon, a real person, filmed in a real backyard. Her account has a long run of sketches in French and English, a recurring character called Zelda Jane, and posts about her acting work. She thanked viewers for 400,000 followers on 27 May 2026, seven weeks before the clip.
- The song: unknown. We found no reliable source either way on 16 Oct 2026. The release credits Jerri as producer and lyricist, but credits alone don't say how a track was made. The one page we found that answers "no" outright belongs to a site selling AI dance videos, and its only evidence is that the song is a real release, which says nothing about how it was made. Until Jerri or the label says something, it's an open question.
- The Jawn AI video: yes, that part is AI. The versions with your face or your cat in them are made by AI tools from a single photo, moving it the way Pilon moves.
How people make the Jawn AI video
There are three ways to make it, and only two of them need AI. None of them is on Jump on the Trend yet.
- Film it yourself. The original isn't AI, so the truest version is you on your own lawn, drink in hand, swaying through the build-up until the drop. Post it on the original sound so it sits with the others.
- A photo template. CapCut templates turn one photo into a short dance clip; MakeViral dates the first ones to 10 Aug 2026. Use a photo of yourself, or of another adult who has said yes. We'd never make a baby or child version: our trends are for adults and pets.
- An AI video tool that copies motion. Some tools take a reference clip and a photo and move the person in the photo the way Pilon moves. A photo with a glass in your hand matches the clip best, since she holds hers the whole time.
- Credit the original. However you make it, tag @monikapilon: it's her sketch.
The Jawn dance cat
"The jawn dance cat", "the jawn cat dance" and "the jawn cat meme" all turn up in Google's suggestions. The AI cat we could open is @scottbradley71's tabby from 17 Aug 2026: it stands on its hind legs in the backyard from Pilon's clip, in front of the same white shed and wooden fence, with the same glass held in one paw. It had 25.5K plays on 16 Oct, and MakeViral's pet template copies this same clip. We couldn't tell which cat clip most of those searches are after, so we haven't counted any bigger ones.
If we add the Jawn, a pet version would start from a clip like that one, with your cat or dog in the tabby's place as a whole animal. Until then, the two pet trends below put your pet into a real viral clip today.
Where the Jawn trend stands on 16 Oct 2026
A late, catch-up trend. Pilon's own series drew its biggest numbers early: 18.7M plays for the original on 16 Jul, 2.3M and 3.1M for the two follow-ups a week later, and 134K for part 5 on 7 Oct. MakeViral, a template site, lists CapCut template posts with several million views as late as 30 Sep; we couldn't open those to check them, so treat that as unofficial.
We haven't measured the Jawn's own search curve. For the six AI video remake trends we tracked in 2026, search peaked a median of 4.5 days after the first AI remake. By that yardstick the Jawn's first AI wave would have peaked in mid-August, but that's a rule of thumb, not a reading. What we can see is that two months later Google still offers AI completions for it, and the song's YouTube upload has drawn 1.1M views since 10 Sep. The lifespan numbers are in how long TikTok trends last.
Post it now and you're joining a long tail, not riding the first wave.
