Storm II AI trend the crowd dance, explained

The Storm II AI trend is people recasting the moment the crowd erupts in STORM, the short film GENER8ION released with Yung Lean on 24 Apr 2026: a lead in a white shirt stands dead still while rows of uniformed pupils erupt around him. People make it elsewhere by giving an AI video tool the original scene plus a photo of the new face. You can't make it on Jump on the Trend. We held it back on 16 Oct 2026 because it's a scene from a commercial film and we couldn't confirm that everyone in the crowd is an adult. The three similar trends below give you a free preview of yourself in under a minute.

WHAT IT IS

What is the Storm II AI trend?

It's the start of the crowd-dance finale of STORM, a film of 7 minutes 35 seconds that GENER8ION (the French producer Surkin's project) put on YouTube with the Swedish rapper Yung Lean on 24 Apr 2026, remade with someone else in the lead. The copied moment is about 28 seconds of one continuous take, from roughly 4:17 to 4:46 in the film. The lead, in a white shirt and a loosened striped tie with no blazer, lights a cigarette in close-up, turns, walks into tiered rows of pupils in navy blazers on the steps of a red-brick school, and takes his place. About 21 seconds in, the whole crowd bows forward at once and flings heads and arms back, while he doesn't move at all.

The film was directed by Romain Gavras, choreographed by Damien Jalet and produced by Iconoclast. The story is set at an all-boys British boarding school, class of 2034, and it was shot at the Collège Cardinal Mercier in Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium. Songfacts reports that Jalet worked with 66 dancers, rehearsed for two days and filmed the outdoor dance in eight takes. The film had 39,353,676 YouTube views when we read it on 18 Oct 2026.

In the AI versions somebody else is the still centre: a man in front of a hospital team in scrubs, a woman in a red hat, a ginger cat in front of a crowd of cats, a golden retriever, a Korean king of the underworld with his grim reapers lined up behind him. Most keep the steps, the single take and the timing; a few move the whole thing to a new place. People search for it as Storm II AI, the Storm 2 AI video, the Storm dance AI trend and the GENER8ION Storm AI trend. They all mean this one take.

HOW IT'S MADE

How do people make the Storm II AI video?

Not with a prompt on its own. The recasts copy the real film. As T—J described it on 18 Sep 2026, people give an AI video tool the original moment as the reference for the moves and the camera and a front-facing photo for the face, plus a prompt that sets the outfits, the crowd and the setting. T—J tied the wave to two tools that swap a person in a clip from one photo: a ByteDance video model released in late July, which it says is in CapCut and on Dreamina and is paid by subscription or credits, and a Higgsfield tool released on 1 Sep. Several of the TikTok and YouTube captions we read carry #genjutsuchallenge or credit Higgsfield, and several app sites now have Storm II template pages.

T—J's checklist names the three things that most often go wrong: the face in the wide shots, repeated faces in the crowd, and the moves falling out of sync. Its last step is to lay the Storm II song over the video in an editor such as CapCut, timed so the beat lands when the crowd breaks into its sharp moves.

Credit is a sore point. T—J noted that one of the top comments under the original film complains that people copy the dance with AI without crediting the choreographer and dancers. Some recasters do name Gavras, Jalet, Surkin and Iconoclast in their captions, and InsideHook reported on 21 Sep that some people objected to AI accounts copying the work so quickly.

IS IT STILL GOING

Is the Storm II trend over?

Stage on 16 Oct 2026: past its peak, still searched. Most of the recasts we found went up between 13 and 23 Sep 2026. New ones kept coming after the VMAs performance on 27 Sep, and some were still being posted in early October. In our Google Trends pull (worldwide, 15 Oct 2026), searches for "storm ii ai" peaked on 19 Sep and have been far lower since.

People still want to make it, though. On 16 Oct Google still finishes "storm ii ai" with video, prompt, generator, free and crowd dance, and "storm dance ai" with video free.

Want the Storm II trend here?

We studied Storm II on 16 Oct 2026 and held it back, for two reasons. The clip is a scene from a commercial music film, GENER8ION and Yung Lean's STORM, not a creator's own post. And the crowd play pupils at a boys' boarding school: we couldn't confirm that every one of the dancers was 18 or over when it was filmed, and we don't put anyone's face into a clip that may include under-18s. So we're not taking requests for this one. If you want to be the one in the middle of a crowd, start with Bulin 47.

QUESTIONS

Questions people ask

Is there a free Storm II AI video generator?

Not here: Jump on the Trend doesn't make Storm II. T—J reported on 18 Sep 2026 that the ByteDance tool it walked through charges for generation, by subscription or credits, and we haven't tested other sites' free offers. Our free preview works on the similar trends above: add a selfie and see a still of yourself in the scene in under a minute.

Is Storm II AI?

No, the original is live action, filmed at a real school in Belgium. The choreographer Damien Jalet worked with 66 dancers, rehearsing for two days, and the outdoor dance was filmed in eight takes (Songfacts). GENER8ION and Yung Lean also performed it live at the VMAs on 27 Sep 2026. The AI part is the copies people started making in September.

Is there a Storm II AI prompt?

No prompt makes it by itself. The recasts copy the real clip: a video tool gets the original moment as a reference for the moves plus a photo, and the prompt T—J published on 18 Sep 2026 only works alongside that clip, setting the faces, outfits and place. On our site you never write a prompt: you add a photo and the clip does the rest, on the trends we make.

Can I do the Storm II trend with my face or my pet?

Not on Jump on the Trend: we held it back. Elsewhere people have used their own faces, cats and a golden retriever. Here you can put your face in Bulin 47 or Rumpelstiltskin, or your pet in one of the AI pet trends.

What song is the Storm II trend?

Storm II by GENER8ION and Yung Lean, the second half of the two-part single released on 24 Apr 2026 and the lead single from the album Love & Tears. It runs 2:53. Songfacts reads it as a euphoric song about a relationship coming to an end, letting go of something toxic that was fun for a while. The single reached No. 2 on Billboard's US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (Wikipedia).

Which part of the music video is the trend?

The single take from about 4:17 to 4:46 of the official film: the close-up, the walk into the rows, the still crowd, then the eruption. Most recasts we compared run 24 to 31 seconds; some skip the close-up and start on the walk-in, 6 to 9 seconds later. None of the ones we compared use the fights from the film's first half.

Who are the Storm II dancers?

A troupe of 66 dancers brought together by the choreographer Damien Jalet (Songfacts), with Yung Lean in the lead. In the film they play pupils at a boys' boarding school. At the VMAs on 27 Sep 2026, 66 dancers performed it with him live (My Modern Met).

How do I do the Storm II trend?

Elsewhere: a video tool that takes the original clip as a motion reference and your photo for the face, then the Storm II sound added in TikTok or CapCut. Here you can't, yet. For the same you-in-the-middle-of-the-crowd feeling, try Bulin 47: add a selfie and the free preview is ready in under a minute; the full video is 100 credits ($9.90), emailed in about 5–10 minutes.
