What is the Pet Pilot AI trend?
Pet Pilot turns one photo of your dog or cat into a 10-second video of it flying a little open-cockpit propeller plane over the clouds, in brown leather goggles and a red scarf, with its ears flapping in the wind. You add the photo, check a free preview still, and make the video if it looks like your pet. The plane cruises, banks gently over a sea of white cloud and levels out, while the camera flies alongside and drifts in to your pet's face as it squints into the sun like an old flying ace. No crash, no dogfight, no explosions: just a very proud animal having the best day of its life.
It isn't one viral clip that people copy. It's a photo-to-video template that the AI video apps have been selling in different forms. The earliest one we found is a 28-second "Pet Pilot" video on Hailuo AI's community feed, uploaded on 6 July 2025, made with Hailuo's own "Pet Pilot" agent, in which a dog in goggles flies through a storm in a war story. Hailuo later added a template called "Turn Your Baby or Pet Photo into a Pilot Video", which showed 37,170 uses and 11.6K likes when we read it on 18 October 2026, the most likes of any template on that page. Morphic has a "Kitty plane effect" and a "Pet Air Combat" effect. People search for it as the cat pilot meme, the dog pilot meme, the aviator dog meme and "ai cat flying plane", all of which Google completes.
Ours is the pet version only, and the sunny one. Your pet's breed, coat, markings and eye colour come from your photo; we add the goggles, the scarf and a plain little cream-and-blue plane with no numbers, flags or badges. The preview is free and takes about a minute. The 10-second vertical video costs 100 credits ($9.90) and comes in 1080p. It's silent, so you can add an upbeat song or a propeller sound in TikTok or Reels when you post. For more pet adventures, try Knight Cat, Pet with Dinosaurs or Catzilla, and if you'd rather fly yourself, Flying lifts you over the rooftops.
Is the Pet Pilot trend still growing?
Evergreen rather than breaking: pet-pilot clips have been made with AI apps since at least July 2025, and on 18 Oct 2026 Hailuo's baby-or-pet pilot template showed 37,170 uses. Searches cluster around the cat pilot and dog pilot memes and "ai cat flying plane", not one named trend.
How to do the Pet Pilot trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.
Pet Pilot mixes
- Over the clouds
- Golden-hour flight: Golden-hour version: the same flight at sunset, the cloud sea below lit orange and pink, a low warm sun to one side rimming the pet's fur and goggles with gold, a soft purple sky above. The pet's face stays clearly lit. Same plane, goggles, scarf, camera and banking turn.

- Daylight beats flash; skip heavy filters and blurry action shots
- No other animals or people in the photo
Who to cast
- Your dog (floppy ears flap best)
- Your cat
- A rabbit, ferret or any pet with one clear face photo
Pet Pilot FAQ
Is there a free Pet Pilot AI video generator?
You can preview yourself in the Pet Pilot scene free. The full 1080p video costs 100 credits, charged only when it's ready. Credits come in packs from $9.90 for 100 and work on any trend.
Which app makes the Pet Pilot AI video?
Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.
How many photos do I need for Pet Pilot?
One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 1. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.
What happens to my photos?
They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.
What is the pet pilot AI video?
A short AI video of a pet flying a little propeller plane in goggles and a scarf, ears flapping in the wind. On this page you make it from one photo of your own dog or cat: the plane banks over the clouds and the camera flies alongside, ending on your pet's proud face.
How do I make a video of my dog flying a plane?
Add one sharp photo of your dog, check the free preview still, then make the video. There's no prompt to write: the goggles, scarf, plane, clouds and the banking turn are already set, and your dog's breed, coat and markings come from the photo. It works the same way for a cat.
Is the pet pilot video free?
The preview is free: you see a still of your pet in the cockpit in about a minute. The 10-second video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p. If the preview doesn't look like your pet, stop there and pay nothing.
Is this the cat pilot meme?
It's the same idea. People search for the cat pilot meme, kitty pilot meme, dog pilot meme and aviator dog meme, and they all show an animal in flying goggles at the controls of a plane. Here the pilot is your own pet, flying a peaceful sunny trip rather than a dogfight.
Can I make my baby a pilot?
No. Some apps sell a baby-or-pet pilot template, but we don't make videos of babies or children. This page is for pets only: dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals.
Does my pet stay an animal? Will it look like my pet?
Yes to both. The whole animal comes from your photo, with its own face, coat colour, markings and eye colour. It keeps its real paws, resting on the cockpit rim, and its ears stay free to flap; the goggles sit up on its forehead so you can see its eyes.
What photo works best?
One clear, well-lit photo of one pet facing the camera, with both ears in view. Head and shoulders are enough because the cockpit hides the rest. Avoid blurry action shots and photos with other animals or people. More tips in our photo guide.
How long is the video, and does it have sound?
Ten seconds, vertical 9:16, 1080p, with no sound. Add a song or a propeller sound in TikTok, Reels or Shorts when you post; an upbeat or heroic track suits the proud close-up at the end.
Can I make it at sunset?
Yes. Pick Golden-hour flight for the same flight over a cloud sea lit orange and pink, with the low sun catching your pet's fur and goggles. Over the clouds is the bright midday version.
Why isn't it a fighter plane or a dogfight?
Because the joy is the pet in the wind, not the fight. The plane is a plain little civilian aircraft with no markings, so there are no guns, smoke or explosions. If you want more drama, Knight Cat puts your pet in armour on a stormy moor.
