What is the AI Action Figure AI trend?
The AI action figure trend turns one photo of you into a boxed toy: a realistic plastic figure of you, sealed in a clear blister pack on a printed card, with tiny versions of your everyday things in the slots beside you. To do it here, add one clear photo and you get three looks: the classic blister pack, a 1/7-scale figurine standing on a desk next to its own box, and a pink doll box. People also call it the starter pack trend, the doll box trend and the AI toy box.
It comes from April 2025. ChatGPT added a new image generator on 25 Mar 2025, and one of the earliest AI action figure posts Know Your Meme lists went up on X two days later. Worldwide Google searches for "ai action figure" peaked on 11 Apr 2025, by our read of Google Trends, and AI News reported on 14 Apr that it was busiest on LinkedIn, where people boxed up their work selves with a mug, a laptop and a job title. The name starter pack is borrowed from an older meme, a collage of the things that sum up a type of person, which Know Your Meme traces to a tweet on 27 Sep 2014. The figure came back in a new form in September 2025, when Google's Gemini app spread a 1/7-scale collectible standing on a desk on a clear round base, its 3D model on the monitor behind and its box beside it. Google says that version started in Thailand before India carried it worldwide (TechCrunch, 17 Sep 2025).
Here you add one photo, see a free watermarked preview of the blister pack first, then get all three photos for 15 credits (5 a look), charged only for the photos that pass our face check. The figure keeps your face, hair, facial hair and glasses and wears the clothes from your photo, sculpted in plastic. We don't ask for your name, so the card says ACTION FIGURE instead, and the accessories are the everyday kind: coffee, phone, laptop, headphones, a notebook. No real toy brand appears on any box. Any of the three can become a 5-second video with Make it move. Prefer the cute version? Chibi Figure does the big-head vinyl toy, and Miniature World shrinks you into a whole tiny scene.
Is the AI Action Figure trend still growing?
Past its peak, and we won't pretend otherwise. On our read of Google Trends on 18 Oct 2026, worldwide weekly searches for "ai action figure" were at 1 out of 100 in the weeks of 4 and 11 Oct 2026, against 100 in the week of 6 Apr 2025. The wave fell fast: half in 3 days and under a tenth 10 days after the 11 Apr 2025 peak, with a smaller second rise to about a fifth in early September 2025, alongside the desk figurine. What's left is steady how-to demand. On 18 Oct 2026 Google still completes "ai action figure generator", "ai action figure generator free" and "action figure trend gemini", and Zooop's action figure template showed 1,818 uses. In the 28 days to 18 Oct 2026 "ai action figure" was searched about one and a half times as often as "chibi ai" (our read, relative numbers). It's a classic now rather than a wave: a birthday picture, a leaving-do joke, a LinkedIn post.
The AI Action Figure looks
One make gives you 3 photos, one in each look:
- Blister Pack: A photoreal product photo of a collectible action figure of the person in the photo, sealed in a clear moulded plastic blister pack on a tall printed cardboard backing card that hangs from a hang tab with a peg hole at the top. The figure stands upright in the centre, full body, about 15 cm tall, in glossy painted plastic, wearing the outfit from the photo, with the same face, hairstyle, facial hair and glasses, smiling slightly at the camera. Beside it, each in its own moulded slot in the plastic, sit five small accessories from an ordinary working day: a takeaway coffee cup, a smartphone, an open laptop, a pair of headphones and a notebook. The card is printed in bold flat teal and orange with a starburst in one corner; across the top in big bold capitals it says ACTION FIGURE, and the starburst says SERIES 1. No other words, no logos. Plain soft-grey studio backdrop, soft even light with a highlight running down the plastic bubble, the whole pack in frame and slightly angled.
- Desk Figurine: A photoreal photo of a 1/7-scale collectible figure of the person in the photo, standing on a round clear acrylic display base with nothing printed on it, on a tidy wooden computer desk. The figure is finely painted PVC, full body, about 25 cm tall, wearing the outfit from the photo, with the same face, hairstyle, facial hair and glasses, in a relaxed, confident standing pose. Behind it, a computer monitor shows the same figure as a grey 3D sculpting model on screen, with no logos on the monitor. Beside the figure stands its collector's box: a printed window box with an illustrated portrait of the figure on the front and no words or logos. A mug and a small plant at the edge of the desk. Warm daylight from a window on one side, soft shadows, shallow depth of field, the figure sharp in the foreground.
- Pink Doll Box: A photoreal product photo of a fashion-doll version of the person in the photo, standing upright in a tall pink cardboard doll box with a clear plastic window front and a rounded arched top. The doll is full body, about 30 cm tall, with the same face, hairstyle, facial hair and glasses as the photo, wearing the outfit from the photo with a light satin sheen, one hand on hip, beaming at the camera. Clipped to the pink backing beside the doll, each in its own slot, are a few accessories: sunglasses, a smartphone, a takeaway coffee cup, a small bag and a spare pair of shoes. The box is glossy hot pink and pale pink, scattered with printed sparkles and little stars, with two short words in white across the top arch: THE STAR. No other words, no logos. Pink studio backdrop, soft glowing light, a gentle sparkle on the plastic window, the whole box in frame.
The AI Action Figure AI prompt
Want to do it yourself? Paste this into any image model that accepts your photo (Gemini, ChatGPT and others), with a clear, front-facing photo attached:
Create a new 3:4 photograph of the person in my uploaded photo: A photoreal product photo of a collectible action figure of the person in the photo, sealed in a clear moulded plastic blister pack on a tall printed cardboard backing card that hangs from a hang tab with a peg hole at the top. Style: A photoreal studio product photograph of a collectible toy: a long-lens look with crisp focus on the figure and a softly blurred background, soft even softbox light with a clean highlight sliding down the clear plastic, saturated flat packaging colours. The figure is glossy painted PVC with fine sculpted detail (seams at the joints, painted eyes with a slight shine, smooth plastic skin) but keeps the person's real face shape and adult proportions, so it is unmistakably them.. Keep their face exactly as in the photo (same features, skin tone and hair), natural skin, no filter, no extra people.
For the other looks, swap the scene for one from the list above. If the face drifts, add a second photo from another angle and ask it to keep the face exactly as in the photos.

Photo tips for AI Action Figure
- One clear, well-lit photo of just you, ideally from your head to at least your knees: the figure is full length, so your outfit shows.
- Face the camera with nothing over your face. Glasses are fine and stay on the figure.
- Wear what you want the figure to wear: your clothes become its sculpted outfit, so a bold colour or a signature jacket reads best in plastic.
- Adults only, one person per photo.
Who to cast
- You (the classic)
- Your work self, for the LinkedIn post
- A friend for their birthday, with their OK
- A colleague on their last day, with their OK

Is the AI Action Figure AI photo free?
You can see a free, watermarked preview of yourself first. The full set is 3 photos (Blister Pack, Desk Figurine, Pink Doll Box) for 15 credits, about $1.40 to $2, charged only for photos that come out right.
What is the AI Action Figure AI prompt?
It's on this page under "The prompt": copy it into any image model that accepts your photo. Or press Make here, and we run it on your photo, check the face and give you every look at once.
Can I turn my AI Action Figure photo into a video?
Yes. Press "Make it move" under any photo for a 5-second video of it (50 credits).
What happens to my photos?
They are stored privately, sent to the model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted after 30 days.
What is the action figure trend called?
Three names for one April 2025 wave: the AI action figure trend, the starter pack trend and the doll box trend, which some outlets called the Barbie box trend. People also search for AI toy box and AI toy figure. The September 2025 version on a desk is usually called the 3D figurine trend.
What app is the AI action figure trend?
In April 2025 it was mostly ChatGPT, and in September 2025 the desk figurine spread through Google's Gemini app. You don't need either here: add one photo, and the blister pack, the desk figurine and the pink doll box come back together.
How do you do the action figure trend on ChatGPT?
In April 2025 people uploaded one clear, usually full-length photo, asked for a realistic action figure of themselves in a blister pack, listed the name and tagline for the box, a few accessories and the colours, then retried until it looked right (AI News, Yahoo News). The classic prompt on this page is a good starting point to paste in.
How do you do the action figure trend on Gemini?
The Gemini version was the desk figurine: Google's Gemini app posted the prompt on 1 Sep 2025, a 1/7-scale figure on a round clear acrylic base on a computer desk, with its 3D model on the monitor and a printed toy box beside it. Here it's the Desk Figurine look.
Can I put my name and job on the box?
Not in one click: we don't ask for names, so the card says ACTION FIGURE and SERIES 1. If you want your name and title, copy the prompt on this page, add them, and run it yourself in any image tool that takes a photo.
Can I choose the accessories?
Here they're the everyday set from the original trend: a coffee cup, a phone, a laptop, headphones and a notebook. Yahoo's reporter picked her seltzer, coffee, phone, laptop and a notebook; by hand, swap the list in the prompt for the things from your own day.
Is the AI action figure trend over?
As a wave, yes: worldwide searches peaked on 11 Apr 2025 and were at about 1% of that in October 2026 (our read of Google Trends, 18 Oct 2026). People still look for an action figure generator, though, and it's still a good birthday or leaving-do picture.
Can I make an action figure with a friend or my pet?
This template boxes one person per photo, so make one for each of you and post them side by side. For two people in one picture, try Instant Photo Together; for a pet, Pet Halloween Portrait.
Can I get a real action figure of myself?
Not from us: we make photos, and a 5-second video from any of them. A physical figure of you means 3D printing or a custom toy maker, which is a separate search and service.
What was the starter pack no AI trend?
The artists' answer: hand-drawn starter packs posted under #StarterPackNoAI from April 2025. Creative Boom counted hundreds of illustrators by 17 Apr 2025, objecting to AI's energy use, copyright and the devaluing of human skill.
