What is the Long Neck AI trend?
The long neck AI trend turns a selfie into a flat, minimalist cartoon sticker of you with a neck about three times too long and a perfectly straight face. Everything else stays true to the photo: your hairstyle, glasses, beard and the top you had on, drawn in thin outlines and flat colour inside a white sticker border. The joke is that one wrong detail, and a face that refuses to notice it.
It grew as a search rather than from one famous post. Worldwide Google searches for "long neck ai" started climbing in the week of 3 Aug 2025, jumped in mid-February 2026, had their highest week from 12 to 18 Apr 2026 and came back in a second wave in September 2026 (Google Trends, read 18 Oct 2026). Zooop sells it as a Japanese-style caricature, and Zooop's long-neck template showed 3,115 uses on 18 Oct 2026. We couldn't find the first post or a single artist behind the look, so we don't claim one. It's a small trend: in its best week it reached about 1% of the search peak of the 2025 Ghibli-style wave. And it isn't the long-necked figure of Japanese folklore either: these are deadpan and cute, not spooky.
Here you add one photo and see a free, watermarked preview of the first sticker. Then you get three: Classic Sticker, Little Wave and Over the Wall, for 5 credits each (15 credits for the set), charged only for stickers that pass our check. Credits come in packs from $9.90 for 100. Any sticker can become a 5-second video with Make it move, where your head sways slowly on that neck and you blink, still unimpressed. For other ways to see yourself as a character, try Chibi Figure or Cozy Felt Portrait.
Is the Long Neck trend still growing?
Simmering, not breaking. "long neck ai" has drawn steady Google searches since August 2025, with waves in November 2025 and in February, April and September 2026 (Google Trends, read 18 Oct 2026). Searches fell to 9 in the week of 4 Oct, but broad AI filter searches dropped the same week, so we don't take that as the end. It's a small, sticky trend: people want a sticker or an avatar of themselves, not a moment, and Zooop's version had 3,115 uses on 18 Oct 2026.
The Long Neck looks
One make gives you 3 photos, one in each look:
- Classic Sticker: A flat, minimalist cartoon sticker, 3:4. The person from the photo, an adult, drawn from the chest up and facing the camera, with a comically long, thin, straight neck about three times a normal length lifting a slightly small head high above their shoulders. Keep their own hairstyle and hair colour, eye shape, eyebrows, facial hair, glasses and skin tone, simplified into thin, even dark outlines and flat colour. The face is perfectly deadpan: half-closed, unimpressed eyes, a short flat line for a mouth, the smallest hint of a nose. They wear the top from their photo, flattened into simple shapes in its own colours, arms relaxed at their sides. A thick white die-cut sticker border follows the outline of the whole figure, on a plain warm cream background with a faint shadow under the sticker. No shading or texture, no text, no logos.
- Little Wave: The same flat sticker style, 3:4. The person from the photo, drawn from the waist up with the same very long, thin neck, raises one hand to shoulder height in a small, polite wave, palm out, fingers together. The neck tilts very slightly to one side; the face stays completely deadpan, with half-closed eyes and a flat mouth, as if waving were a chore. Their own hair, glasses, facial hair and skin tone, and the top from their photo in flat colour. White die-cut sticker border around the figure, plain warm cream background, faint shadow. No speech bubble, no text, no logos.
- Over the Wall: The same flat sticker style, 3:4. A plain, flat pastel-green garden wall fills the bottom quarter of the frame. The person from the photo is hidden behind it except for their two hands resting on top of the wall and their very long, thin neck, which rises up from behind the wall and curves gently forward so their deadpan face peeks down at the viewer from above. Their own hair, glasses, facial hair and skin tone; half-closed eyes, flat mouth, completely unbothered. Thin even outlines and flat colour, a white die-cut sticker border around the wall and the figure together, plain warm cream background, faint shadow. No text, no logos.

Style: Minimalist flat cartoon sticker. Thin, even dark outlines; flat colour fills with no shading, gradients or texture; very simplified features (half-closed eyes, a short straight line for a mouth, the smallest hint of a nose); soft, muted colours. A thick white die-cut sticker border follows the outline of the figure, on a plain warm cream background with a faint shadow under the sticker. The one exaggeration is the neck: long, thin and straight, about three times a normal length, with the head slightly small on top.. Keep their face exactly as in the photo (same features, skin tone and hair), natural skin, no filter, no extra people.
For the other looks, swap the scene for one from the list above. If the face drifts, add a second photo from another angle and ask it to keep the face exactly as in the photos.

Long Neck FAQ
Is the Long Neck AI photo free?
You can see a free, watermarked preview of yourself first. The full set is 3 photos (Classic Sticker, Little Wave, Over the Wall) for 15 credits, about $1.40 to $2, charged only for photos that come out right.
What is the Long Neck AI prompt?
It's on this page under "The prompt": copy it into any image model that accepts your photo. Or press Make here, and we run it on your photo, check the face and give you every look at once.
Can I turn my Long Neck photo into a video?
Yes. Press "Make it move" under any photo for a 5-second video of it (50 credits).
What happens to my photos?
They are stored privately, sent to the model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted after 30 days.
What is the long neck AI trend?
A photo trend that turns your selfie into a flat cartoon sticker of you with a very long neck and a deadpan face. Your hair, glasses and clothes stay true to the photo; only the neck is stretched.
Where does the long neck trend come from?
We couldn't pin it to one first post or one artist. Searches for "long neck ai" started climbing in August 2025, and Zooop sells it as a minimalist Japanese-style caricature. The device itself is an old cartoon trick: one exaggerated feature on an otherwise faithful drawing.
Is it the Japanese long-neck ghost?
No. The rokurokubi is a figure from Japanese folklore whose neck stretches at night, in stories told since the Edo period (Wikipedia). The AI trend borrows only the neck: it's a cute, deadpan sticker, not a ghost story.
Which app makes the long neck AI sticker?
Template sites like this one and Zooop make it from one photo with no prompt. You can also ask a chatbot that edits images, such as ChatGPT or Gemini, by uploading a photo and describing the sticker; results vary more from one try to the next.
How do I do the long neck trend on ChatGPT or Gemini?
Upload a clear, front-facing photo and paste the first look's prompt from this page. Ask it to keep your hair, glasses and top, to stretch only the neck and to keep the face deadpan. If the neck comes out too short, say how much longer you want it.
Can I make long neck stickers for my friends?
Yes, one photo per person: each make draws one person. A matching set for the whole group chat works well, because the style, the border and the cream background are the same every time.
Does it work with pets?
It's made for people: the stretch is drawn for a human head and shoulders. For your cat or dog, try Pet Halloween Portrait.
Is it a mean caricature?
It shouldn't be. We keep your hairstyle, hair colour, eye shape, eyebrows, facial hair, glasses and skin tone as they are, and the only thing exaggerated is the neck. The face is always deadpan, whatever expression you pulled in the photo.
Can I use it as a profile picture or chat sticker?
Yes. Each one has a white sticker border on a plain background, so it crops cleanly into a profile picture and still reads when it's small in a chat.
Is the long neck trend over?
Not clearly. Searches came in waves through 2026, the last in September, and fell to 9 in the week of 4 Oct, but other AI filter searches fell the same week, so we're waiting before calling it (Google Trends, read 18 Oct 2026).
