What is the Clone Army AI trend?
Clone Army is a 5-second AI video in which you step sideways and leave a solid copy of yourself behind, then do it again and again, until a long line of you stretches down a sunny street and every one of you hits the same pose at the same moment. Add one photo, get a free preview still of yourself on the street in about a minute, then make the video in 1080p for 100 credits ($9.90).
Filling a video with copies of yourself isn't new. On 23 Apr 2022 Publimetro Colombia wrote up the 'efecto de clones' on TikTok, made by stacking the same clip on itself in CapCut, cutting out the background on each layer and sliding the copies apart; people still search "how to clone yourself in a video capcut". What's changed is that AI template sites now do it from a single photo. Vidu sells Clone Me (copies that move or perform together) and a second one-photo clone template where copies appear and move in sync, Higgsfield has a Clone Explosion motion preset, MagicShot has Clone Chaos for video clips, and Revid has a Clone Multiplier that it says renders up to seven copies in one frame. We read all of them on 18 Oct 2026; none showed use counts or a launch date.
Ours keeps the bit that makes these clips land: every copy is you, front to back, in your own outfit, and they move as one at the end. There's no editing, no tripod and no friend holding the phone, and it works with your dog or cat too. On Google, "clone" autocompletes to "clone trend tiktok", "clone yourself ai video" and "ai clone effect" (read 18 Oct 2026), which are the searches this page answers.
Is the Clone Army trend still growing?
An evergreen effect rather than a breaking moment. The clone look has been a TikTok editing staple since at least April 2022, and on 18 Oct 2026 four AI sites sell a one-photo version, but none publish use counts and we found no single viral post driving it now. Expect steady interest, not a spike.
How to do the Clone Army trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.
Clone Army mixes
- You
- Your pet: The pet version: the same sunny city sidewalk, the pet from the photo in place of a person, the whole animal on four legs, no clothes or costume. Over the clip it hops sideways three or four times and each hop leaves a solid, identical copy of itself standing where it was, so a row of the same animal builds up and recedes diagonally down the pavement, every copy with the same coat, markings, ears and eye colour. It never turns into a person and never stands on two legs. At the end every copy sits down at the same moment and tilts its head at the lens together. Sound: soft paw taps, a light whoosh with each copy, then one happy bark or meow.
Photo tips for Clone Army
- One sharp photo of you, face to the camera and well lit, waist up or more: every copy is made from it, so the clearer the better.
- If you wear glasses, keep them on for the photo: every copy keeps them. Take off sunglasses and hats.
- Your outfit is the army's uniform: every copy wears what you wear in the photo, so pick a fit you like.
- One person per photo: your own, or an adult's who said yes, never a child's.
- For your pet, one clear daylight photo of the whole animal with its face visible.
Who to cast
- You (the classic)
- The friend who says they need to be in five places at once
- Your partner, with their yes
- Your dog or cat
Clone Army FAQ
Is there a free Clone Army AI video generator?
You can preview yourself in the Clone Army scene free. The full 1080p video costs 100 credits, charged only when it's ready. Credits come in packs from $9.90 for 100 and work on any trend.
Which app makes the Clone Army AI video?
Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.
How many photos do I need for Clone Army?
One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 2. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.
What happens to my photos?
They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.
What is the AI clone effect?
A video where one person turns into many: copies of you appear in the same shot, all with your face and outfit. In Clone Army you step sideways and leave a copy behind each time, until a whole line of you strikes the same pose. It's made from one photo.
Is it free?
The preview is free: add a photo and see a still of yourself on the street, about to take the first step, in about a minute. The 5-second video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p.
How do I make the clone trend video?
1. Add one clear photo of yourself, face to the camera, waist up or more. 2. Check the free preview: you alone on a sunny city sidewalk. 3. Make the video. There's no layering, no background removal and no tripod: the steps, the copies, the camera move and the sound are built in. 4. Post it on TikTok, Reels or Shorts with whatever sound you like.
How do I clone myself in a video in CapCut?
The classic way, as Publimetro described it in April 2022, is to film yourself in a few spots, stack the clips as overlays, remove the background on each layer and slide them apart with keyframes. It works, but it takes a tripod and some patience. Here you add one photo and the copies are made for you.
What happens in the 5 seconds?
The first second: you take a quick step to the side and a solid copy of you stays where you were. Then three more steps, three more copies, as the camera pulls back to show a line of you running down the street. The last two seconds: every copy turns to the camera and hits the same pose at once, and the one at the front gives a little nod. It's one continuous shot with its own sound: whooshes, footsteps and a snap on the pose.
Will every copy look like me?
That's the aim: every copy is made from your photo, with your face, hair, glasses and outfit. The ones at the front are biggest and clearest; the ones far down the street are small. The free preview shows your face before you start multiplying, and every take is new, so watch yours before you post it.
Can my dog or cat do it?
Yes. Pick Your pet and add a photo of the whole animal: it hops sideways, leaving a copy with each hop, until a row of the same pet sits down together and tilts its head at you. It's every bit as silly as it sounds.
Can I do it with a friend?
Not in one video: the army is all one person or one pet. Make one each and post them back to back, or stitch them so your army meets theirs.
Is the clone trend a big TikTok trend right now?
It's a long-running format rather than this week's moment. The editing version was reported as a TikTok trend in April 2022, and on 18 Oct 2026 at least four AI sites sell a one-photo version, but none publish numbers, so we won't guess at views.
What sound does it come with?
Its own: a soft whoosh each time a copy appears, footsteps on stone and a snap when everyone poses. There's no music, so add a sound in the app you post to.
What's the clone effect prompt?
Other sites describe one subject splitting into several identical copies that move or pose in sync, usually in a wide, steady shot. Here you don't write one: you add a photo and the scene is written for you.
How is it different from Selfie Twin, Mini Me and Your Next Opponent Is You?
Selfie Twin gives you one identical twin who leans into your selfie. Mini Me puts a tiny you on your palm. Your Next Opponent Is You is a face-off with yourself. Clone Army is the one where you keep multiplying until there's a whole street of you, moving as one.
