What is the Halloween Movie Night AI trend?
Halloween Movie Night is a 10-second AI video of you curled up on the sofa with popcorn, lit by a flickering TV, while a tall black silhouette slowly rises in the rain-streaked window behind you. Add one photo, see a free preview still of yourself on the sofa in about a minute, then make the video in 1080p for 100 credits ($9.90).
The scare is in the timing. For four seconds nothing happens except popcorn and rain; then the shape rises behind your head, presses a palm to the wet glass, and lightning whites out the window. You freeze mid-bite and turn round, and the window is empty, apart from one misty handprint. You turn back to the camera, and that frozen stare is the last frame. Friends watching your clip see the figure long before you do, which is the whole joke.
It's our own take on a scene Picsart turned into a one-tap preset this month. Picsart's GenAI Studio lists a 'Halloween Movie Night' video preset in its 'AI Halloween Filters' row, next to Mirror Demon and Halloween Night Call; its listing describes a cosy-creepy October living room with TV flicker, glowing jack-o'-lanterns and a slow-rising window silhouette, made into a 6-second clip from one photo (created 9 Oct 2026, published 17 Oct 2026). Ours runs 10 seconds so the figure has time to rise, adds the lightning, the turn and the handprint, and comes in versions for two people and for pets. There's no film on the TV and no famous killer at the glass: the TV stays off-screen, so only its light reaches your face, and the figure is a plain, featureless shape.
Is the Halloween Movie Night trend still growing?
Seasonal and brand new. It's a Halloween scene rather than a breaking trend: Picsart built its preset on 9 Oct 2026 and published it on 17 Oct, and we haven't found other remake sites with the same scene. Expect it to do best in the last two weeks of October, peaking around Halloween on Saturday 31 Oct 2026, then rest until next autumn.
How to do the Halloween Movie Night trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.
Halloween Movie Night mixes
- You
- You and your partner or friend: The two of you sit side by side under one blanket sharing the popcorn bowl; the silhouette rises in the window behind you both. On the lightning flash you both freeze, grab each other's arm and turn to the window together.
- Your pet: The pet version: the same cosy living room, with the pet from the photo in place of a person, the whole animal sitting upright on the sofa cushions next to the popcorn bowl, no clothes or costume. Its ears twitch at the film; as the silhouette rises behind it the fur on its back lifts, and on the lightning flash it whips its head round to the window, ears flat, then looks back at the camera wide-eyed. It stays on all fours or sitting, never stands on two legs and never turns into a person.
Photo tips for Halloween Movie Night
- One sharp photo of you, face to the camera and well lit, chest up or closer: you stay facing the lens most of the clip.
- Wear what you'd wear on the sofa: hoodies and jumpers look great here, because your own clothes stay in the video.
- If you wear glasses, keep them on for the photo. Take off sunglasses and hats.
- For the duo version, add one photo of each of you, both adults, both saying yes.
- For your pet, one clear photo of the whole animal with its face visible.
Who to cast
- You (the classic)
- You and your partner, the horror-film date night
- The friend who always says 'it's not even scary'
- Your dog or cat, the movie-night regular
Halloween Movie Night FAQ
Is there a free Halloween Movie Night AI video generator?
You can preview yourself in the Halloween Movie Night scene free. The full 1080p video costs 100 credits, charged only when it's ready. Credits come in packs from $9.90 for 100 and work on any trend.
Which app makes the Halloween Movie Night AI video?
Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.
How many photos do I need for Halloween Movie Night?
One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 3. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.
What happens to my photos?
They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.
What is the Halloween Movie Night AI video?
A 10-second video of you on the sofa with popcorn, lit by a TV, while a black silhouette rises in the rainy window behind you. Lightning flashes, you turn round, and all that's left is a handprint on the glass. It's made from one photo of you.
How do I do the Halloween movie night trend?
Add one clear photo of your face, check the free preview still, then make the video. There's no prompt to write and no editing: the room, the window, the figure, the lightning and the sound are built in. Post it to TikTok, Reels or Shorts with whatever sound you like.
Is it free?
The preview is free: you see a still of yourself on the sofa in about a minute. The 10-second video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p.
Will it look like me?
Your face stays large and facing the camera for most of the clip, with your own hair, facial hair, glasses and clothes from the photo. The free preview shows your face before you spend anything.
Can I do it with my partner or a friend?
Yes. Pick the duo version and add a photo of each of you: you share one blanket and one popcorn bowl, and on the lightning flash you grab each other and turn to the window together. Both of you should be adults who are happy to be in it.
Can my dog or cat be in it?
Yes. Pick Your pet and add a photo of the whole animal: it sits on the sofa by the popcorn, its fur lifts as the shape rises, and it whips round to the window on the lightning flash.
What film is on the TV?
None. The TV is never in the frame, only its flickering light on your face, so no real film, show or character appears. That keeps the video yours to post.
How is this different from Ghost Filter Prank?
Ghost Filter Prank is a phone selfie in a hallway with a pale ghost hovering behind your shoulder. Here you're on the sofa, the figure never comes inside, it stays a black shape beyond the glass, and the payoff is the handprint it leaves behind.
Is it too scary to post?
It's written as cosy-scary: no blood, no weapons, no monster face, just a shape at the window, a thunderclap and your reaction. Every video is new, so watch yours before you post it.
What sound does it come with?
Its own: rain on the window, popcorn crunching, a low hum from the film, a thunderclap, then silence. Add a trending sound in the app you post to if you want one.
Is this the Picsart Halloween Movie Night filter?
No, it's our own take on the same idea. Picsart's GenAI Studio has a preset with that name, a 6-second clip from one photo (created 9 Oct 2026). Ours is written from scratch and runs 10 seconds, with the lightning, the turn and the handprint, plus versions for two people and for pets.
