What is the Giant Cat Attack AI trend?
The giant cat attack, which media.io sells as Catzilla, is an AI clip where a perfectly ordinary pet is suddenly as tall as the office towers around it. It pads down the middle of a city avenue, cars stop around its paws, the street shakes with every step, and then it does what a cat or dog always does with something new: it leans down and sniffs it. The joke is the gap between the size and the behaviour. Nothing about the animal changes except the scale, so it is still your cat's slow blink or your dog's twitching nose, just as tall as the towers. Here your own pet plays the giant. Over 10 seconds a low camera at street level watches it walk towards you, a huge paw lands right in front of the lens with a jolt, and the face comes down to give the camera a curious sniff.
There is no single viral post that started it. Giant-pet AI clips have been around about as long as video models good enough to fool people: in late September 2024 an AI clip of an enormous Maine Coon by Manchester artist Numan Khan spread on X and Instagram, and Wamiz explained on 4 October 2024 how viewers spotted it was fake. Since then the giant cat in the city has become a stock AI format, from a mockumentary prompt about a colossal orange tabby wedged between towers in Chongqing on Hooked to giant-dog prompts on media.io. The name Catzilla got its own news moment in April 2026, when Hong Kong International Airport put an 8-metre animatronic ginger cat, officially called A Moment to Purr, in its Terminal 1 arrivals hall for Easter, and Spanish-language papers picked up the Catzilla nickname from social media. When we checked on 18 October 2026, media.io sold a Catzilla AI video effect and Magic Hour and pxz.ai had their own giant-cat templates.
On Jump on the Trend you add one photo of your pet. We put the whole animal, with its own breed, coat, markings, eye colour and shape, into the city at giant scale and show you that still as a free preview in about a minute. If you like it, the 10-second vertical video costs 100 credits ($9.90) and comes in 1080p. It has no sound of its own, so you can lay any sound you like under it in TikTok. We keep it a funny giant pet rather than a disaster film: a bit of dust and a car bouncing on its springs, no fire, no people in danger, and no monster features. Your pet stays your pet, just enormous.
Is the Giant Cat Attack trend still growing?
An evergreen AI format rather than a breaking wave: giant-pet clips have circulated since at least September 2024, the Catzilla nickname got a news moment from Hong Kong airport's giant cat in April 2026, and by 18 Oct 2026 media.io, Magic Hour and pxz.ai all sold giant-cat templates. Google completes 'catzilla ai video' and 'giant cat ai video'; we found no single viral origin post.
How to do the Giant Cat Attack trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.

Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.
How many photos do I need for Giant Cat Attack?
One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 1. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.
What happens to my photos?
They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.
What is the Catzilla AI trend?
An AI video where your pet is suddenly as tall as a skyscraper and walks through a city: cars stop around its paws, the ground shakes, and it leans down to sniff the camera. Media.io sells it as a Catzilla effect; people also search for it as giant cat AI video or giant cat attacking city.
Is there a free giant cat AI video generator?
The preview is free: add a photo of your pet and you see a still of it towering over the city in about a minute. The 10-second video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p. If the preview doesn't look like your pet, stop there and pay nothing.
How do I make my cat giant in a video?
Add one sharp photo of your cat, check the free preview, then make the video. There's no prompt to write: the city, the scale, the paw landing near the camera and the sniff are already set. Your cat's breed, coat, markings and eye colour come from the photo.
Can I do it with my dog?
Yes. 'Giant dog AI video' is a search of its own, and the template takes any pet with a clear face photo: dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs. The whole animal is scaled up, so a photo that shows its full body works best.
Does my pet turn into a monster?
No. It stays a normal-looking pet with real fur, paws and its own tail, just enormous. No scales, spikes, fire or roaring: the joke is an ordinary cat or dog at giant scale doing ordinary cat or dog things.
Does the city get destroyed?
Only a little dust and a car bouncing on its springs. We keep it a funny giant-pet clip rather than a disaster film: no fire, no collapsing buildings and no people in danger, which also keeps the video clean enough to post anywhere.
Are giant cat videos real?
No, they're AI-made, like the giant cat clips going round since at least 2024. The only real giant cat in this story is the animatronic one Hong Kong airport put on show from 3 April 2026, which social media and the press nicknamed Catzilla.
What was the giant cat at Hong Kong airport?
An interactive animatronic ginger cat, about 8 metres long, called A Moment to Purr, put in the Terminal 1 arrivals hall for Easter 2026 from 3 April and billed to run until 2 May; El Imparcial reported on 5 September 2026 that it stayed on and moved to Terminal 2. It wiggles its ears and swishes its tail when visitors interact with it, and social media and Spanish-language papers called it Catzilla. It isn't connected to this template; it's where the nickname got its news moment.
How long is the video, and does it have sound?
Ten seconds, vertical 9:16, 1080p. It comes without sound, so add whatever sound you want in TikTok when you post: a heavy stomp sound, a dramatic track or your pet's own meow.
What photo works best?
One sharp, well-lit photo of one pet facing the camera, standing or sitting, with as much of its body in view as you can. A curled-up sleeper or a blurry action shot gives too little to work from. More tips: /guides/best-photo-for-ai-face-swap/.
Can I choose the city or make it at night?
There are two looks: a city avenue at sunset, and a neon night in the rain with wet streets reflecting the lights. The city is a generic one with no famous landmarks or brand signs, so the video stays about your pet.
