What is the 3D Hologram AI trend?
The AI 3D hologram effect turns a photo into a short clip of you as a glowing, see-through projection. Here a beam of light rises out of a round projector on a dark desk, a scan line draws you from the waist up, and your hologram turns to the camera, waves, glitches once and folds back into the lens. Add one photo and you get a free preview still of your hologram in about a minute, then the 5-second video in 1080p for 100 credits ($9.90). People search for it as an AI hologram video generator, a 3D hologram AI or simply the hologram trend.
It isn't one viral post. The template site media.io sells an AI 3D Hologram Generator, a prompt-led tool whose page the Internet Archive first saved on 11 Nov 2025, and Google now completes "ai hologram video" with "generator" and "generator free" (18 Oct 2026). The look is much older. YouTube has been full of hologram videos for years, mostly animals and objects glowing on black, made to play on phone pyramids and spinning fan displays: one of 2019 has 9.4M views. Those all lean on Pepper's ghost, a stage trick first shown at London's Royal Polytechnic in December 1862, where a lit figure reflected in angled glass seems to float on stage. A phone version of the trick went viral on TikTok in 2026; BGR counted 3.2M views on 31 May.
Ours is the AI version with you in it. Your face, hair, facial hair, glasses and clothes come from your photo, made of light, with your face kept as the clearest part so it still looks like you through the glow. Pick classic cyan, violet neon or gold. The projector is plain, there's no screen text or interface, and nothing comes from any film. It isn't a video for a phone pyramid: it's a clip of your hologram to post as it is. The video has a soft electric hum and no music, so add a sound when you post. For more effects with light, try Superpower or Blue Screen Glitch.
Is the 3D Hologram trend still growing?
An evergreen effect, not a breaking wave. The hologram look has had steady YouTube views since at least 2019, and a phone-projector version went viral on TikTok in May 2026, but the AI-of-yourself version has one template seller we track (media.io, online since at least Nov 2025) and almost no use on the others we checked. Search demand is real but small: Google completes "ai hologram video" with "generator" and "generator free", and YouTube's "hologram trend" completions lean towards photo-editing tutorials, some in Hindi (all read 18 Oct 2026).
How to do the 3D Hologram trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.
3D Hologram mixes
- Classic cyan
- Violet neon: Violet version: the projector light, hologram, scan lines and glow are violet and magenta instead of cyan, with a faint pink reflection on the desk. Only the colour of the light changes
- Gold light: Gold version: the projector light, hologram, scan lines and glow are warm gold and amber instead of cyan, with a soft warm reflection on the black desk. Only the colour of the light changes
Photo tips for 3D Hologram
- One clear, front-facing photo of one person, from the chest up.
- Your face matters most: the hologram is see-through everywhere except the face, so it has to be sharp.
- Even light on your face; no hard shadows across it, no sunglasses.
- Plain clothes read best as light; busy patterns and logos turn to noise.
- No other people in the photo.
Who to cast
- You
- Your partner or a friend, as a hologram message
- A parent or grandparent, for a 'beamed in' birthday message
3D Hologram FAQ
Is there a free 3D Hologram AI video generator?
You can preview yourself in the 3D Hologram scene free. The full 1080p video costs 100 credits, charged only when it's ready. Credits come in packs from $9.90 for 100 and work on any trend.
Which app makes the 3D Hologram AI video?
Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.
How many photos do I need for 3D Hologram?
One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 1. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.
What happens to my photos?
They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.
What is the AI 3D hologram trend?
A short AI clip that shows you as a glowing, see-through 3D hologram. In ours, a beam of light rises out of a projector, a scan line draws you from the waist up, and your hologram waves, glitches and folds back into the lens. It's made from one photo of you.
Is the AI hologram video generator free?
The preview is free: add a photo and see a still of your hologram in about a minute. The 5-second video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p.
How do I turn myself into a hologram?
Add one clear, front-facing photo, pick cyan, violet or gold light, and check the free preview still. If it looks like you, make the video. There's no prompt to write and no editing app.
Will it still look like me if it's see-through?
That's the part we built it around. The body and clothes are see-through with scan lines, but your face is the brightest, most solid part of the hologram, so it stays recognisable. Check the free preview first; a sharp, evenly lit photo works best.
Is this a video for a phone hologram pyramid?
No. Those are videos of animals or objects on black, mirrored four ways, made to reflect in a plastic pyramid on your phone, a version of the 1862 Pepper's ghost trick. Ours is a finished vertical clip of you as a hologram, to post as it is.
Is the hologram real?
No. It's an AI video made from your photo; nothing is projected. Even the famous concert holograms are Pepper's ghost projections rather than true holograms, as Wikipedia notes.
What colours can the hologram be?
Three: classic cyan, violet neon and warm gold. Only the light changes; your face, hair and clothes come from your photo every time.
What song goes with the hologram trend?
There's no shared song we could find. Yours comes with a soft electric hum, a rising tone and a crackle, and no music, so add any sound in TikTok or Reels when you post.
Can I make a hologram of my pet?
Not in this template for now: it's built for one person, waist up. For pets, try our AI pet trends.
Is my photo kept?
For 30 days, then it's deleted automatically, and it's never used to train AI. You can delete everything sooner with Delete my data on Your videos; the details are in our safety guide.
