What is the Earth Zoom Out AI trend?
The earth zoom out is one unbroken camera move. It starts close on a person who looks up and waves, then flies straight up: the person shrinks to a dot, the city spreads out, clouds slide past, the sky goes black and the whole blue Earth hangs in space. No cuts, no edit tricks, about ten seconds from a face to a planet. That's the whole effect, and why it works as an intro, an ending or a post on its own.
The idea is old. The 1977 film Powers of Ten zoomed out from a picnic to the galaxies, and a 4K "zooming out from Earth" clip from 2019 became a TikTok meme in summer 2022, when people set their small worries against the size of the universe. The AI version arrived on 23 Jun 2025, when the video app Higgsfield added an Earth Zoom Out effect that made the move from one photo. The first AI shorts followed within a week, and Google searches for "earth zoom out" peaked on 6 Jul 2025. They've been small but steady since: on 18 Oct 2026 Google still finishes "earth zoom out ai" with "free", "free video generator", "prompt" and "higgsfield", and two AI template sites added it this year.
Here you add one photo of yourself. You get a free preview still of you waving up from a sunny city square in about a minute, then the 10-second video in 1080p for 100 credits ($9.90). Your face, hair, facial hair, glasses and clothes come from your photo. The square and the city are generic, with no landmarks or signs, and the geography is invented, so it won't match a real map. The video comes with wind and a deep whoosh and no music; add your own sound when you post.
Is the Earth Zoom Out trend still growing?
Evergreen, past its peak. The AI wave peaked on 6 Jul 2025 and searches were at about 1% of that peak on 16 Oct 2026. It hasn't gone away, though: Google completes 23 "earth zoom out" phrasings on 18 Oct 2026, and Starrd (24 Jul) and MakeViral (30 Sep) both added templates this year. People make it as an intro or an ending rather than chasing a moment, so it's a page for steady searches, not a breaking one.
How to do the Earth Zoom Out trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.
Photo tips for Earth Zoom Out
- One clear photo of you, face to the camera and well lit; head and shoulders or waist up is plenty.
- Your face is only readable in the first two or three seconds, so a sharp photo matters more here than on most trends.
- Glasses stay if you wear them in the photo; take sunglasses off unless you want them in the video.
- One person in the photo, no hats or hands covering the face. Where you took it doesn't matter: we put you in the square.
Who to cast
- You (the classic)
- A friend who's just moved city
- Anyone you'd like to see from space

You can preview yourself in the Earth Zoom Out scene free. The full 1080p video costs 100 credits, charged only when it's ready. Credits come in packs from $9.90 for 100 and work on any trend.
Which app makes the Earth Zoom Out AI video?
Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.
How many photos do I need for Earth Zoom Out?
One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 1. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.
What happens to my photos?
They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.
What is the earth zoom out AI video?
A short clip made from one photo: you look up and wave from the ground, and the camera pulls straight up and away in one unbroken move, past the rooftops and the clouds, until the whole Earth hangs in space. The AI part is that no drone or editing is involved; the whole move is generated.
Is there a free earth zoom out AI video generator?
The preview is free here: add a photo and see a still of yourself in the square in about a minute, with no card or account. The 10-second video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p, with no logo on it. Kapwing's July 2025 guide said Higgsfield's free plan allowed two Earth Zoom videos a day; we haven't checked what it allows now.
Is this the Higgsfield earth zoom out?
No. Higgsfield is the app whose Earth Zoom Out effect, added on 23 Jun 2025, started the AI wave, which is why so many searches carry its name. We're a different site: we build the same kind of camera move fresh around your photo.
What's the earth zoom out AI prompt?
The prompts shared in tutorials follow one shape: who and where at the start, the camera move (a smooth, continuous zoom out), what passes on the way (city, country, clouds), and how it ends (the Earth turning in space). Here you don't write one. You add a photo and the scene and the move are written for you.
Where did the earth zoom out start?
The move goes back to the 1977 film Powers of Ten. A 4K 'zooming out from Earth' clip from 2019 became a TikTok meme in summer 2022, and the AI version took off after Higgsfield's effect on 23 Jun 2025, with searches peaking on 6 Jul 2025.
How long is the video?
10 seconds. That's long enough for the wave, the climb through the clouds and a beat on the whole planet. Other sites make 10 or 12 seconds; the original app effect made 3- or 5-second clips, by Kapwing's account.
Will my face show the whole way?
No, and that's the point of the shot: your face is clear for the first two or three seconds, then you shrink to a dot. So use a sharp, well-lit photo; the preview still shows you how recognisable the opening frame will be.
What photo works best?
One clear photo of you facing the camera, head and shoulders or waist up, with nobody else in it and nothing covering your face. Where you took it doesn't matter, because we put you in the square, and you keep the clothes you're wearing in it.
Can it start from my town?
Not on this one. Every video starts in the same generic sunny square, and the city, coast and hills on the way up are invented, so they won't match a real map. That also keeps famous landmarks and signs out of your clip.
Can I make the earth zoom in instead?
We make the zoom out. For the zoom in, reverse your finished clip in any video editor, a trick Kapwing's guide uses too: the planet then rushes toward you and lands on your face.
Is the earth zoom out trend still going?
It's past its peak but still searched. Searches peaked on 6 Jul 2025 and were at about 1% of that on 16 Oct 2026, yet Google still completes 23 'earth zoom out' phrasings and two template sites added it this year. People use it as an intro or an ending more than as a moment.
What sound should I use?
The video comes with square ambience, rising wind and a deep whoosh, and no music. Add a song or voice-over in TikTok, Reels or Shorts when you post, from their own sound library.
