What is the Red Carpet AI trend?
The red carpet AI video is a short premiere arrival starring you: a car door opens at the kerb, you step out onto the red carpet, walk it while a line of photographers behind the velvet rope fire their flashes, then stop at the backdrop, turn to the cameras and hold a pose. Add one photo and you get a free preview still of yourself on the carpet in about a minute; the 10-second video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p.
It's the video follow-up to a photo wave. After the Met Gala of 6 May 2024, AI-made pictures of pop stars who hadn't gone fooled fans, as AP reported the next day, and it happened again around the gala of 4 May 2026, when the Boston Globe wrote that AI renderings spread alongside, and often faster than, the official photographs. People wanted in too: the day after the 2026 gala Picsart published a guide to putting your own photo into gala looks, and within the week YouTube had how-tos for 'Met Gala AI prompts'. The video version followed on template sites: Starrd published its Red Carpet template and guide on 10 to 11 July 2026, Magic Hour added a 'Superstar Paparazzi Walk' prompt on 5 September 2026, and Morphic's red carpet effect page has example videos made on 22 September 2026.
Ours is a made-up premiere, not a real event: the backdrop has only plain gold stars on it, with no festival name, film title or sponsor, and nobody famous is in the shot. You're dressed in plain black tie, a tuxedo or a long black gown, whatever your photo suits, and your face, hair and glasses come from your photo; there are no sunglasses, so the flashes land on your face. You can bring a date for the duo version, or send your dog or cat down the carpet instead. The video has shutter clicks and photographers shouting but no music, so add a sound when you post. Is the Red Carpet trend still growing?
Steady and seasonal rather than breaking. The AI red carpet idea peaks around big red carpet nights (the Met Gala fakes of May 2024 and May 2026), and the video templates for it have been around since July 2026 (Starrd), with Magic Hour and Morphic following in September. Only one of the remake sites we track, Starrd, sells it, and our radar scores it 1.0 on 18 Oct 2026. Google completes 'ai red carpet trend' and 'red carpet ai video', so the demand is real but small; expect bumps around awards season.
How to do the Red Carpet trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.
Red Carpet mixes
- You
- You and your date: Two stars arrive together, arm in arm: they walk the carpet in step and at the backdrop turn to the photographers together, one hand on the other's shoulder, both smiling into the flashes. Two people only.
- Your pet: The star is the pet: it trots up the carpet on all fours on the loose lead, held by an attendant shown only from the waist down, stops at the backdrop, sits and looks up into the lens, ears up, as the flashes fire.
Photo tips for Red Carpet
- One sharp photo of your face, front-on and well lit, chest up or closer.
- Take off sunglasses and hats: the flashes light your face and it has to hold through them. Glasses stay if you wear them in the photo.
- One person per photo. Your clothes don't matter: the scene dresses you in black tie.
- For the duo version, one photo of each of you.
- For the pet version, one clear photo of the whole animal with its face in view.
Who to cast
- You, on the night of your big premiere
- You and your partner, as the couple everyone photographs
- The friend who always acts famous
- Your dog or cat, the real star of the house

Which app makes the Red Carpet AI video?
Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.
How many photos do I need for Red Carpet?
One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 3. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.
What happens to my photos?
They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.
What is the red carpet AI trend?
An AI video of you arriving at a premiere: you step out of a car onto the red carpet, walk through the paparazzi flashes and pose at the backdrop. It grew out of the AI Met Gala photos of 2024 and 2026; here it's made from one photo of you.
Is the red carpet AI video free?
The preview is free: add a photo and see a still of yourself on the carpet in about a minute. The 10-second video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p.
How do I make a red carpet AI video?
Add one clear, front-on photo, pick solo, duo or pet, and check the free preview still. If it looks like you, make the video. There's no prompt to write.
Can I do it with my partner or friend?
Yes. Pick the duo version and add a photo of each of you: you step out of the car arm in arm and pose for the cameras together.
Can my dog or cat walk the red carpet?
Yes. In the pet version your dog or cat trots up the carpet in a little bow tie, sits at the backdrop and looks into the flashes. The whole animal comes from your photo.
Is it the Met Gala, Cannes or the Oscars?
No. It's a made-up premiere: the backdrop has plain gold stars and no event name, film title or sponsor, and nobody famous is in it. Template guides often call it the Met Gala trend, but we don't copy any real event.
What do I wear in it?
Plain black tie: a black tuxedo with a bow tie or a long black satin gown, picked to suit your photo. Your own clothes don't matter. Your face, hair and glasses come from your photo, and there are no sunglasses so the flashes light your face.
Can I use a photo of a celebrity?
Use a photo of yourself, or of someone who's happy to be in it. The point of this one is that you're the star of the night.
What sound does the red carpet video have?
Shutter clicks, flash pops and photographers shouting, with no music or reporter. Add any sound in TikTok or Reels when you post.
How long is the red carpet video?
Ten seconds, vertical, in 1080p: enough for the car door, the walk through the flashes and the pose. Starrd's version runs 12 seconds.
Is my photo kept?
For 30 days, then it's deleted automatically, and it's never used to train AI. You can delete everything sooner with Delete my data on Your videos; the details are in our safety guide.
