What is the Cat Cake AI trend?
The cat cake AI trend is a short, impossible bakery clip: whipped cream is piped onto a sponge cake, and the swirl turns out to be a cat, which climbs out on top, licks its nose and waves a paw. Here you make it with your own pet: add one photo and you get a free preview still of your cat, dog or rabbit rising out of the cream in about a minute, then the 5-second video in 1080p for 100 credits ($9.90).
We couldn't find a dated first post. The template site ClipTrend sells it as Cake Kitten and points to a YouTube Short, "AI Made a Similar Video with a Cat", whose thumbnail shows a man reacting to a fluffy white kitten sitting in piped cream on a sponge cake; ClipTrend counts 13M views, but the Short was unavailable when we tried it on 18 Oct 2026. The earliest date we could pin to the name is 30 Jul 2026, when ClipTrend published a blog post called "Cake Kitten AI Video". The gag itself, an everyday thing with a kitten inside, is older: a soap dispenser that gives out a kitten was on TikTok by 23 Sep 2025, and a Spanish-language YouTube Short of it from 27 Nov 2025 has 6.09M views; a fur-covered orange, which ClipTrend's version peels open on a sleeping kitten, was on TikTok by 24 Feb 2026. ClipTrend sells all three as separate templates. We make the cake one.
Ours starts with your pet already half out of the cream, because the free preview has to show that it's your pet; then it climbs the rest of the way out. The whole animal comes from your photo: breed, face, coat colours, markings and size, so an adult cat stays an adult cat. Pick plain vanilla cream, or pink strawberry cream with strawberries round the rim. It isn't the cat cake cutting video, where a knife slices a cake made to look like a cat: there's no knife anywhere in ours, and nothing cuts into your pet or a copy of it. The video has soft bakery sounds and no music, so add a sound when you post. More pet templates are on AI pet trends.
Is the Cat Cake trend still growing?
Small and steady, not a wave. The cake kitten has one template seller (ClipTrend, with a blog post on it since 30 Jul 2026), no origin post we could date, and our radar scores it 1.0 on 18 Oct 2026. Most of the searching happens under broader phrasings: Google completes "cat cake ai" with "video" and "cutting", and "pet cake ai" and "dog cake ai video" exist too, while "cake kitten ai" gets nothing. Its cousins are older, the soap-dispenser kitten from Sep to Nov 2025 and the fruit kitten from Feb 2026, so treat it as an evergreen pet gag rather than a breaking trend.
How to do the Cat Cake trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.
Cat Cake mixes
- Vanilla cream
- Strawberry cream: Strawberry version: pale pink strawberry cream instead of white, with a ring of whole fresh strawberries round the top edge of the sponge; only the cream is pink, the pet keeps its own colours
Photo tips for Cat Cake
- One sharp, well-lit photo of one pet, face towards the camera.
- The head, ears and front paws matter most: they're what we see first as it climbs out of the cream.
- Show the whole animal if you can, so its size, shape and coat come out right when it sits on top of the cake.
- Daylight beats flash; skip heavy filters, costumes and blurry action shots.
- No other animals or people in the photo.
Who to cast
- Your cat (the original clips show kittens)
- A white or cream cat, closest to the original clips
- Your dog
- A rabbit, guinea pig or hamster
Cat Cake FAQ
Is there a free Cat Cake AI video generator?
You can preview yourself in the Cat Cake scene free. The full 1080p video costs 100 credits, charged only when it's ready. Credits come in packs from $9.90 for 100 and work on any trend.
Which app makes the Cat Cake AI video?
Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.
How many photos do I need for Cat Cake?
One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 1. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.
What happens to my photos?
They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.
What is the cat cake AI trend?
A short AI clip where whipped cream piped onto a sponge cake turns out to be a cat: it climbs out on top of the cake, licks its nose and waves. Template sites call it Cake Kitten. Here it's made from a photo of your own pet.
Is the cat cake AI video free?
The preview is free: add a photo and see a still of your pet rising out of the cream in about a minute. The 5-second video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p.
How do I make the cat cake AI video?
Add one clear photo of your pet, pick vanilla or strawberry cream, and check the free preview still. If it looks like your pet, make the video. There's no prompt to write.
Can I do it with my dog?
Yes. Any pet works: the whole animal comes from your photo, so a dog climbs out of the cream as itself, at its own size, on a cake big enough to hold it. You can use a rabbit or guinea pig too.
Is this the cat cake cutting video?
No. In those, a knife slices a cake made to look like a cat, often while a real cat watches; YouTube has had them since at least December 2020, and "ai cat cake cutting" is a YouTube search now. Ours has no knife: your pet only ever sits in the cream, and nothing cuts into it or a copy of it.
Can I make the soap dispenser kitten or the fruit kitten?
Not here, for now. They're the same gag with a soap pump (on TikTok by September 2025) and a fur-covered orange (by February 2026), and ClipTrend sells both as templates. Here you get the cake version, with your own pet in it.
Will it look like my cat, or like a white kitten?
Like your cat. The original cake and soap clips show a tiny white kitten, but ours keeps your pet's breed, face, coat colours, markings and size from the photo. Check the free preview first; if it isn't right, try a sharper photo.
Is the original cake kitten video real?
No. Cream can't turn into a kitten: the clips are AI-made or edited, as ClipTrend's soap kitten page says of that version. Yours is an AI video too, made from your photo, so your pet never goes near a cake.
What song is used in the cat cake trend?
There's no shared song that we could find. Yours comes with soft bakery sounds and no music, so add any sound in TikTok or Reels when you post.
How long is the cat cake video?
Five seconds, vertical, in 1080p: long enough for your pet to climb out of the cream, lick its nose and wave. ClipTrend's Cake Kitten preset is five seconds too.
Is my photo kept?
For 30 days, then it's deleted automatically, and it's never used to train AI. You can delete everything sooner with Delete my data on Your videos; the details are in our safety guide.
