People search for it as 'my future boyfriend AI', 'show me with my future boyfriend AI' or an AI boyfriend video generator.
It's a one-photo spin on the AI hug. The two-photo hug went big in August 2024, when an AI video of a graduate hugging his late mother passed 1.5 million views on TikTok (Mustsharenews, 6 Aug 2024), and worldwide searches for 'ai hug' peaked in the last week of that month. The boyfriend version needs no second photo, because the AI makes the partner up. MagicShot wrote about an 'AI boyfriend hug effect' trending on TikTok on 5 Jul 2025, and media.io sells it as 'AI Future Boyfriend' (in its sitemap from 23 Sep 2026), pitched at the 'future boyfriend reveal' and 'fake boyfriend filter' posts. Starrd has a cousin, 'The One Who'd Suit Me' (its guide calls it the 'Generate a Man Next to Me' trend), where the AI casts a partner for you and shows a home-video montage of your life together. We couldn't find one viral post this all copies, so we don't claim one: it's an effect style, and a popular search.
The partner is invented every time: an ordinary, kind-faced adult about your age in a plain navy jumper, never a celebrity and never anyone real. Your face, hair, facial hair and glasses come from your photo; your outfit becomes a plain knit or overshirt with no logos. Pick Future boyfriend or Future girlfriend. There's street sound (birdsong, footsteps, your surprised laugh) and no music, so add your own track when you post. If you want to hug a real person, someone you love and who said yes, that's AI Hug, with a photo of each of you.
Is the Future Boyfriend trend still growing?
A steady effect, not a one-week wave. The AI hug has been a staple since its August 2024 peak, and the one-photo boyfriend version has been sold by AI apps since at least July 2025. Search demand on 18 Oct 2026 is real but spread across many phrasings (my future boyfriend AI, AI boyfriend video generator, AI future husband generator) rather than one trend name.
