What is the Squishy Face AI trend?
The squishy face trend turns a face into a soft, glossy squishy toy. Yours lies face up on a wooden table, filmed from straight above. Two hands come in, press your cheeks together and knead the whole thing like dough while it bulges out between their fingers, then they let go and it wobbles back into exactly your face. The sound is half of it: close, wet squelches and little pops on every squeeze, and no music. It's a stress ball with your face on it, and it always springs back.
Squishing things with AI goes back to October 2024, when Pika 1.5 added one-tap effects including "Squish It" and creators tried it on their own clips while brands put it in ads (VentureBeat, 30 October 2024). The face version is a 2026 ASMR niche. On 16 March a YouTube tutorial pitched AI "face ASMR" as a new niche, and on 19 March the TikTok account @ai_channel_84 posted a glossy silicone face being kneaded on a wooden table, the reel MakeViral's template page credits with starting it. People put their own faces in within days. A one-photo CapCut template followed, and two TikTok tutorials for it, from 9 May and 2 July, had 624,000 and 1.3 million views when MakeViral counted them on 13 October. A new round of tutorials began on 10 October 2026, and squish templates are now on Starrd, media.io, MakeViral, ClipTrend and Zooop.
Here you add one close-up of your face, or your pet's. You see a free preview still of your squishy in about a minute; the 5-second video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p, with the squish sounds. Your face, hair, facial hair and glasses are moulded into the toy and come back exactly as they were at the end. It stays playful: a soft toy, no pain, nothing gruesome.
Is the Squishy Face trend still growing?
In a second wave. After a spring 2026 start and a summer of template tutorials, a fresh run of TikTok how-tos began on 10 Oct 2026, two more remake sites were listing squish templates by 18 Oct, and that day Google completed "ai squishy" with videos, asmr, face and toy. On what we can see it's rising again, not peaking.
How to do the Squishy Face trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.
Squishy Face mixes
- Your face
- Your pet: Pet version: the squishy is shaped like the face of the pet from the photo, with its own breed, ear shape, coat colours, markings and eye colour, a soft, slightly glossy toy with a short, velvety fur-like surface that keeps the markings exactly, ears flopped to the sides, eyes calm and open. The hands squish its cheeks and ears, then it springs back to exactly the pet's face. No barking or meowing. It never turns into a human face

How many photos do I need for Squishy Face?
One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 2. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.

They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.
What is the squishy face AI trend?
A short AI clip where a face becomes a glossy squishy toy on a table: two hands squeeze and knead it like dough, it bulges out between their fingers, and then it springs back into shape, with wet, satisfying squish sounds. The first reels in March 2026 used invented AI faces; since the spring people have been using their own.
Is there a free AI squishy face maker?
The preview is free here: add a photo and you see a still of your squishy face on the table in about a minute. The 5-second video, with the squeeze and the sound, is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p.
How do I make an AI squishy video of my face?
Add one straight-on close-up of your face. There's no prompt to write and no template to find: we make the squishy still from your photo (that's the free preview), then animate the hands, the kneading, the spring-back and the sound.
Can I squish my cat or dog?
Yes, there's a pet version. Use a face-on close-up of your pet's head in daylight with its eyes open. Its fur colours, markings and eye colour carry into the squishy, the hands squish its cheeks and ears, and it pops back to exactly its own face. More animal trends are on the pets page.
Does it come back to my face at the end?
That's the point of it. Your face, hair, facial hair and glasses are moulded into the toy at the start, get squashed in the middle and spring back to the same face and expression at the end.
Is it creepy or painful-looking?
It's built not to be. Your face is a soft, rounded toy with a smooth edge, not a head: no neck, no blood, no tearing, and a calm smile before and after. If a take ever looks wrong rather than funny, run it again.
What photo works best?
A sharp, straight-on close-up from the top of your head to your chin, eyes open, in even light. No sunglasses and nothing in front of your face. Your hair and beard make the squishy look like you, so keep them in shot.
How long is it, and what does it sound like?
Five seconds, vertical 9:16, in 1080p. The sound is made with the clip: close, wet squelches and soft pops on every squeeze, with no music, which is how the original reels sound. Post it with the sound on.
Where did the squishy face trend start?
The face version started as an AI ASMR niche in March 2026: a YouTube tutorial on 16 March and @ai_channel_84's glossy silicone face on TikTok on 19 March. The squish effect itself is older; Pika 1.5 made "Squish It" a one-tap effect in October 2024.
Can I squish an object instead?
Not on this page. It's made for one face, yours or your pet's, because a face snapping back to itself is what people share. Product and object squishes are a different effect.
Whose face can I use?
Your own, or an adult friend's who said yes. The site is for adults, so photos of children aren't accepted. How photos are handled is in is AI face swap safe?
