What is the Catwalk AI trend?

The AI catwalk video is a five-second fashion-show moment starring you. You walk a long, glowing white runway straight toward the cameras in slow motion, one step in front of the other, while the audience sits in the dark on both sides. At the end of the runway you stop, strike a pose and hold the look into the lens as the photographers' flashes go off. Add one photo and you get a free preview still of yourself on the runway in about a minute; the video is 100 credits ($6.99), in 1080p.

It isn't one viral post but an app effect that the remake sites all sell under their own names. The earliest dated version we found is Pollo AI's 'AI Catwalk Generator', which turns one photo of a person or a pet into a slow-motion walk toward the camera, and its 'AI Catwalk with Animal', where you walk with your pet: the Internet Archive first captured both pages on 23 April 2025. media.io calls it 'Fashion Stride' (first captured 18 September 2025) and shows it with a woman and an orange cat each walking the same white runway between dark rows of audience. Vidu sells 'Glam Walk', and FlexClip and insMind have their own catwalk generators; Morphic describes the walk itself as hip-led and heel-to-toe, each foot placed in front of the last.

Ours is a made-up show, not a real one: no fashion-house name, no logo, no show title, nobody famous, and the audience stays in silhouette so the only face anyone sees is yours. You're dressed in a plain black runway look, a tailored black suit or a long black dress, and your face, hair, facial hair and glasses come from your photo. Pick You for the solo walk, Your pet to send your dog or cat down the runway on its own, or You and your pet to walk it together. The video has a slow runway beat and shutter clicks, so you can post it as it is or add your own sound.

Where the Catwalk trend comes from

23 Apr 2025The Internet Archive's first captures of Pollo AI's 'AI Catwalk Generator' (one photo of a person or a pet becomes a slow-motion walk toward the camera) and 'AI Catwalk with Animal' (you and your pet on the runway together), the earliest dated copies of the effect we found. · web.archive.org capture index for both pollo.ai pages (read 20 Oct 2026)
18 Sep 2025First archive capture of media.io's 'Fashion Stride' page: upload a selfie, a group photo or a pet picture and get a vertical runway video for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Its two examples, 4 seconds each, show a woman and an orange cat walking a glowing white runway between dark audience rows. · media.io Fashion Stride page and its example clips (read 20 Oct 2026); web.archive.org capture index
by 20 Oct 2026Also on sale when we checked: Vidu's 'Glam Walk' (it asks for a clear full-body photo), FlexClip's AI catwalk generator (a person, a pet or any character), insMind's AI catwalk and a version where you walk beside a companion animal, and CapCut's Pippit with slow-motion walk templates. None of these pages shows a use count. · vidu.com, flexclip.com, insmind.com and pippit.ai template pages (read 20 Oct 2026)
20 Oct 2026Google completes 'ai catwalk' with 'ai catwalk generator', 'ai catwalk video' and 'ai catwalk model', 'ai walk effect' with 'video', 'free', 'app', 'online', 'generator' and 'filter', and 'ai runway walk' with 'ai model walk' and 'ai model walking video'. · Google autocomplete, US (read 20 Oct 2026)

Play counts read on 20 Oct 2026 and still changing.

Is the Catwalk trend still growing?

Steady rather than breaking. The catwalk effect has been on the template sites since at least April 2025 (Pollo AI) and five of the sites we checked on 20 Oct 2026 sell a version of it (Pollo AI, media.io, Vidu, FlexClip and insMind), and Pippit has slow-motion walk templates, but none publishes a use count, so we can't say how many people make it. Google completes 'ai catwalk generator', 'ai catwalk video' and the 'ai walk effect' family, so people do search for it.

How to do the Catwalk trend: by hand or in one click

By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.

Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.

Catwalk mixes

  • You: Solo walk: a confident hip-led stride, arms loose; at the end of the runway they stop, put one hand on the hip, turn the shoulders slightly and tip the chin, holding the look in the lens
  • Your pet: The pet is the model, alone on the runway: it struts on all fours in slow motion, paws placed neatly one in front of the other, head high; at the end of the runway it stops, sits and looks straight up into the lens
  • You and your pet: Walking together: the pet walks on all fours close beside the person, on the right of the frame, keeping pace, head up, no lead, with its own coat, markings and face throughout; at the end of the runway they stop together, the person puts one hand on the hip and the pet sits at their feet, both looking into the lens. Only these two on the runway

Photo tips for Catwalk

  • One clear, front-facing photo of you in good light. Head and shoulders is enough; a full-length photo is a bonus.
  • You're dressed for the show in a plain black runway look, so any outfit in your photo works.
  • Glasses stay if you wear them in the photo; take off sunglasses and hats so the cameras can see your face.
  • For your pet: one sharp photo of the whole animal, standing if you can, with its face and markings easy to see.
  • One adult per photo: you, or a friend who said yes.

Who to cast

  • You, on the runway you were always meant for
  • Your dog or cat, the real top model of the house
  • You and your pet, walking it together
  • A friend who walks down the office corridor like it's fashion week

Catwalk FAQ

Is there a free Catwalk AI video generator?

You can preview yourself in the Catwalk scene free. The full 1080p video costs 100 credits, charged only when it's ready. Credits come in packs from $6.99 for 100 and work on any trend.

Which app makes the Catwalk AI video?

Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.

How many photos do I need for Catwalk?

One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 2. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.

What happens to my photos?

They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.

What is the AI catwalk trend?

A short AI video that turns one photo into a fashion-show moment: you walk a glowing runway straight at the cameras in slow motion, stop at the end and pose as the flashes go off. Apps call it AI catwalk, the AI walk effect, Fashion Stride or Glam Walk. Ours runs 5 seconds.

How do I make an AI catwalk video?

Add one clear, front-facing photo, pick You, Your pet or You and your pet, and you get a free preview still of yourself on the runway in about a minute. If you like it, the video is 100 credits ($6.99), 5 seconds in 1080p.

Is the AI catwalk generator free?

The preview still is free, so you see yourself on the runway before you pay. The video is 100 credits ($6.99).

Can my cat or dog do the catwalk?

Yes. Pick Your pet and your dog or cat struts the runway on all fours on its own, then sits at the end and looks into the cameras; pick You and your pet to walk it side by side. Use one sharp photo of the whole animal so its coat and markings come through.

Do I need a full-body photo?

No. Some catwalk apps ask for a full-length photo; here the outfit and the walk are made for you, so a clear head-and-shoulders photo is enough. Your face, hair, facial hair and glasses come from it.

What will I be wearing?

A plain black runway look: a tailored black suit or a long black dress, with no labels or logos. The show is made up, so there's no fashion-house name anywhere.

Is the AI catwalk the same as the red carpet video?

No. The red carpet video is a premiere arrival: a car, a red carpet and paparazzi behind a rope. The catwalk is a fashion show: a white runway, the audience in the dark and the photographers at the end of the runway. Try Red Carpet for the other one.

Does the catwalk video have music?

It comes with a slow runway beat and camera shutter clicks, and no voices. Most people post it with a trending sound added in TikTok or Reels.
