What is the Dancing Ghost AI trend?
The dancing ghost AI video is a Halloween clip in which a friendly ghost asks you to dance. Here you add one photo, get a free preview still in about a minute, then the 10-second video in 1080p for 100 credits ($9.90): in a moonlit hall a tall, veiled ghost bows to you out of the fog and holds out a misty hand, and the two of you waltz until it twirls you once and melts into glowing mist, leaving you holding thin air. It's spooky-sweet, not scary: no blood, no jump scare, no screaming face.
There's no single viral post behind it. The look is an old Halloween favourite: people have projected ghostly couples dancing in a ballroom as Halloween decorations since at least February 2015, when Matt Champneys posted a test for his home display (154,759 YouTube views on 18 Oct 2026), and Google still completes "dancing ghosts" with "projection" and "halloween decoration". Louie Zong's animated song "Ghost Waltz", posted on 1 Oct 2025, had 747,731 views on 18 Oct. The AI version is an app effect. Media.io put up its AI Dancing Ghost page, which it also calls Dance with Ghost, on 28 Sep 2026, with five prompt styles: a cute ghost duet, a cinematic ghost waltz, a ghost squad, a pumpkin party and a foggy street, the timed ones 7 or 8 seconds long. A related Reels edit ran in mid-September, the "cute ghost girl dance": a veiled white ghost dancing beside a parked motorbike, taught in at least six Hindi-language YouTube tutorials between 16 and 18 Sep. On 18 Oct media.io is still the only remake site we track that sells a dancing ghost.
Ours is the waltz. Your face, hair, facial hair and glasses come from your photo, and so do your clothes, so you can waltz in a hoodie. The ghost is the same for everyone: a made-up spook under a glowing white veil with two dark eye holes and no face, never a person from a photo. Pick Cute little ghosts for the lighter version, where two pillow-sized ghosts bob around you and copy your moves beside glowing pumpkins. The video comes with drifting fog, footsteps and a soft whoosh but no music, so add a waltz when you post. If you'd rather the ghost stayed behind your back, try Ghost Filter Prank; to become the monster yourself, Vampire Transformation. The rest are on our Halloween page.
Is the Dancing Ghost trend still growing?
Seasonal and early. Media.io has sold a dancing ghost since 28 Sep 2026 and is the only remake site we track that does; our radar scores it 1.0 (rank 459 on 18 Oct). Google doesn't finish "dancing ghost ai" or "dance with ghost ai" yet, but it finishes "ghost ai video" with generator and prompt, and "dancing ghost" with trend. Halloween is 13 days away: expect interest to climb until 31 Oct and drop after, then come back next October, as the haunted-ballroom look has since at least 2015.
How to do the Dancing Ghost trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.
Dancing Ghost mixes
- Moonlit waltz
- Cute little ghosts: Cuter version: instead of the tall veiled ghost, two pillow-sized round ghosts, glowing white with dark oval eyes and small smiles, float at shoulder height either side of the person; glowing carved pumpkins on the floor, orange fairy lights on the walls. The person spots them, laughs and does an upbeat side-step with small arm swings while the ghosts bob, spin and copy each move; at about 8.5 s both pop into puffs of glowing mist and the person grins into the lens. No waltz hold, no touching

Which app makes the Dancing Ghost AI video?
Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.
How many photos do I need for Dancing Ghost?
One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 1. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.
What happens to my photos?
They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.
What is the dancing ghost AI trend?
A Halloween video in which a friendly ghost asks you to dance. Here it's made from one photo: a veiled ghost bows to you out of the fog in a moonlit hall, waltzes with you, twirls you once and vanishes into glowing mist.
How do I do the dancing ghost trend?
Add one clear photo of yourself, check the free preview still of you and the bowing ghost, then make the 10-second video. Post it with a waltz or any sound you like. There's no prompt to write and no editing.
Is the dancing ghost AI free?
The preview is free: a still of you in the hall with the ghost holding out its hand, in about a minute, with no card. The video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p. We don't give away free videos.
Is it scary?
Barely. The ghost is friendly and faceless under its veil, it never comes at the camera, and nothing bleeds. For something creepier, Ghost Filter Prank has a ghost rising behind you that's gone every time you look.
How is it different from the ghost filter prank?
In the prank you never catch the ghost: it hovers behind your shoulder and vanishes when you turn. Here you see the ghost from the first frame, take its hand and dance with it.
Can I make the ghost look like someone?
No. The ghost is the same made-up spook for everyone, a glowing veil with two dark eye holes, never a real person's face, and there's no photo slot for it. Your photo only makes you.
Can I do it with a friend or my dog?
Not this one: it's you and the ghost, as in media.io's versions. For a pet in a spooky dance, Thriller Dance has your cat or dog lead a skeleton kitten and a ghost kitten through a zombie dance in a moonlit graveyard.
What song goes with the dancing ghost trend?
There's no set song, and media.io doesn't name one. A waltz suits the steps: "ghost waltz" searches lead to Louie Zong's 2025 animated "Ghost Waltz", among others. It isn't tied to the 2019 song "Dancing With Your Ghost", whatever the name suggests. Your video has no music, so add a track in TikTok, Reels or Shorts.
How long is the video?
10 seconds, vertical 9:16, in 1080p: the bow, about four seconds of waltz, one twirl and the ghost's exit. Media.io's timed prompts run 7 or 8 seconds.
What photo works best?
One sharp, well-lit photo of you facing the camera, waist up or full length, with nobody else in it and no sunglasses or hat. Your clothes come with you; if the photo stops at the waist, the rest of the outfit is filled in to match.
Is this the ghost dance meme?
No. "Ghost dance" searches mostly lead to an animation meme that YouTube animators have posted since at least July 2020. This is a waltz with a made-up ghost, and we call it the dancing ghost.
Is it the ghost girlfriend trend?
No. The ghost GF and BF trend is a photo with a see-through girlfriend or boyfriend beside or behind you, often with a caption; media.io has a prompt page for it. This is a video, and the ghost is a veiled spook, not a partner.
Can my kids do it?
No. Everyone in a video here has to be an adult, so children's photos aren't allowed, however cute the ghost.
Is my photo kept?
For 30 days, then it's deleted automatically, and Delete my data does it sooner. We don't use your photo to train AI or build a face template.
