What is the AI Proposal AI trend?
An AI proposal video is ten seconds of one of you down on one knee with an open ring box and the other saying yes, made from a photo of each of you. Here you add the two photos and get a free preview still of you both in the scene in about a minute; if it looks right, the 10-second video in 1080p is 100 credits ($9.90). The beats are the ones most proposal clips share: the box, the hands to the mouth, the laughing nod, the ring, the rise into a hug.
It's an effect, not one viral clip. The earliest dated version we found is a four-second YouTube Short titled "AI Proposal Video | Image to Video", posted on 1 Jun 2025 (2,130 views when we read it on 18 Oct 2026). media.io's proposal page carries no date, but its sample files were last changed on 20 and 21 Aug 2025, by their server headers. The widest reach we found came from real proposals that used AI, going by news reports and titles: on 6 Mar 2026 an engineer in Shenyang proposed with an AI-animated video of the couple's life together, made in secret over a week (CGTN, 2 Apr 2026), and a YouTube Short from 12 Mar titled "Guy proposed to his girlfriend using AI and her reaction was everything" had 1,399,096 views on 18 Oct. July's AI "tower couple proposal" edits, which copy a real climb of the Empire State Building's spire that ended in arrests, are a separate trend. On 18 Oct 2026 ClipTrend sells a two-photo version (5 to 6 seconds) and media.io a one-photo version you prompt yourself.
Our version takes one photo per person. The first photo kneels and asks, the second says yes, so either of you can propose; swap the photos to swap roles. Faces, hair, facial hair, glasses and clothes come from your own photos. Pick Sunset by the sea or Fairy-light garden. There's no text on screen, no "Marry me" sign and no sound, so you can add your own song when you post. Both photos have to show adults who agreed to be in it, and when you make the video you confirm that everyone you uploaded said yes (our consent rules). That makes it something you make together, after the real question or for an anniversary, not a way to ask. If you want the hug without the ring, that's AI Hug.
Is the AI Proposal trend still growing?
Evergreen, not breaking. AI proposal videos have been made since at least June 2025 and have no single viral moment to fade from; the widest reach we found, in March 2026, came from real proposals that used AI, and July's tower edits are their own trend. We read the search side from autocomplete only, with no trend line: on 18 Oct 2026 Google completes "ai proposal video" three ways and "ai engagement video" two, five AI video sites we checked sell a version, and our radar scores it 1.0 from one tracked site. Propose Day (8 Feb in India) has its own completions and its own Shorts, so Valentine's week may bring a rise; we haven't measured that.

Is this the tower proposal trend?
No. The tower couple proposal edits copy a real couple's climb of the Empire State Building's spire on 1 Jul 2026, which ended with both arrested (ABC7 New York): the edits put a couple high on a tower above a city, holding a flag. We don't make that one. This one is a classic kneel with a ring on a beach or in a garden.
Is it the same as the AI hug?
