That's where the bob happens.
It took off as a prank. MakeViral, the remake site that sells it as the Bob Filter Prank, dates the wave to AI haircut templates in CapCut in early August 2026 and a first 'pranking my husband with the AI haircut filter' post on 9 Aug 2026; by its count one clip from 18 Aug had 5.2 million views by 14 Oct. In Brazil the same idea became the 'trend do cabelo chanel com IA' (a chanel is what Brazilians call a bob): on 3 and 4 Sep 2026 Correio, DCI and Diario do Para all ran how-tos after well-known Brazilian creators posted AI clips of themselves with a short chanel cut; Diario do Para says one of those posts passed a million views. On 18 Oct 2026 Google finished 'bob haircut filter' ten ways, 'prank ai' among them, and 'ai bob haircut' ten ways, including 'video' and 'on me'.

Will it change my face or hair colour?

Is it a Snapchat, Instagram or TikTok filter?
