What is the Gothic Girls Behind You AI trend?
Gothic Girls Behind You is the AI video people call the Tim Burton girls trend. You sit on a low black chair against a black backdrop, hands on your knees. Four pale gothic women in black lace and velvet lean in close behind you, and the one directly behind has her hands over your eyes. Then her hands slide down to your shoulders, you open your eyes and smile at the camera, and four dark-lipped faces stare out over your shoulders. The name comes from the director's style: pale skin, dark lace, a storybook kind of spooky. Tim Burton has nothing to do with it, and none of the women are characters from his films.
It's very new. MakeViral, the only app site with a template for it so far, traces it to a CapCut template posted on TikTok by Fabihola CC (@fabihola_cc) from Mexico on 13 Oct 2026, with her own sound. By MakeViral's count the post had 198,800 views a day later, and about 30 hours in the sound was already in 2,595 videos, 13 of the 14 biggest from Mexico. We couldn't confirm that anywhere else: by 18 Oct we'd found no YouTube how-to, Instagram post or news story showing this scene. It's also not the same as the Tim Burton filter people have searched for since 2020, which turns your own face into a gothic character. Here you stay you, and the gothic part stands behind you.
Here you add one photo of yourself. You get a free preview still of you in the chair with the four women behind you in about a minute. Then you can make the 10-second video in 1080p for 100 credits ($9.90). Your face, skin tone, hair, facial hair, glasses and clothes come from your photo; we don't paint your face pale. The four women are grown-ups we made up: no dolls and no film characters. The video comes with a music-box lullaby and a wordless choir, so it's ready to post as it is, or add your own sound in the app.
Is the Gothic Girls Behind You trend still growing?
Just starting, and narrow. If MakeViral's counts hold, the template took off on TikTok in Mexico on 13–14 Oct 2026. Outside TikTok we found almost nothing by 18 Oct: no YouTube how-tos for this scene, no news and one template page. Searches for "tim burton ai" are real and come back every October, but most of them want the older turn-me-into-a-character filter. If it spreads, the window runs to 31 Oct.
How to do the Gothic Girls Behind You trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the 1080p video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.

What is the Tim Burton girls AI trend?
A short video of you sitting on a black chair while four pale gothic women in black lace lean in behind you and one covers your eyes. Her hands slide to your shoulders, you open your eyes and smile. People call it the Tim Burton girls trend after the director's style; here it's called Gothic Girls Behind You.
Why isn't it called the Tim Burton trend here?
Because Tim Burton has nothing to do with it. He's a real director, and the trend only borrows a mood: pale skin, dark lace, a storybook kind of spooky. The four women are our own made-up grown-ups, not characters from his films.
Is there a free Tim Burton AI filter or generator?
The preview is free here. Add a photo and you see a still of yourself in the chair with the four women behind you in about a minute. The 10-second video is 100 credits ($9.90), in 1080p.
Is this the same as the Tim Burton filter?
No. The Tim Burton filter, around since 2020 and on CapCut as an AI filter since 2024, turns your own face into a gothic character with pale skin and big eyes. This one keeps you as you are and puts the gothic women behind you.
What's the Tim Burton AI prompt, and do I need one?
You don't. The prompts people share describe a gothic, storybook portrait. Here you add one photo and the scene is built around you: the chair, the black backdrop, the four women and the hands over your eyes.
Where did the Tim Burton girls trend start?
MakeViral traces it to a CapCut template posted on TikTok by Fabihola CC (@fabihola_cc) from Mexico on 13 Oct 2026, with her own sound, and an "I'm a Tim Burton girl" clip two days earlier. We haven't found another source that confirms it.
Who are the women behind me?
Four grown women we made up for the scene: one with long black hair in black lace, one with pinned-up black curls in black velvet (she covers your eyes), one with a deep-red braided updo in burgundy and black, and one with silver-white hair in torn grey lace. No dolls, no children, no film characters.
Does it work for men?
Yes. You sit in the chair in your own clothes, with your own hair, facial hair and glasses, and the women stand behind you. Nothing about the scene is made for one gender.
What photo works best?
One clear, well-lit photo of you, waist up, facing the camera, with nobody else in it. Dark clothes suit the scene. Skip the face paint: we don't change your face, so the gothic look comes from the women behind you.
How long is the video, and what's the sound?
10 seconds: about four with your eyes covered, then the reveal and the smile. It comes with a music-box lullaby and a wordless choir that we generate, not the TikTok sound, so add that in the app if you want it.
Can I do it with a friend or my partner?
One person per video: the chair has room for one. Make one each with your own photos and post them side by side.
Can my cat or dog sit in the chair?
Not on this one: the hands over the eyes and the smile are made for a person. For your pet, see the AI pet trends.
