It's a story in one shot: the person you'll become reaching back for the person you are now. Pixazo, an AI image and video site, put the 'Cliffside Rescue Trend' in its round-up of viral AI video and photo trends published on 23 Sep 2026, describing it as your future self reaching back over the edge to pull you to safety. CapCut's Dreamina has a page of copy-and-paste prompts for the same 'save yourself' story, with the same adult playing both parts, a wrist grab and a pull to safety (one of the three ends in a moment of recognition). Neither shows how many people have made it, and we found no single viral post that started it, so we don't claim one.
Both of you are built from your one photo: the you who's hanging is you as you are, in a red shell jacket; the you who's rescuing has the same face shape, eyes, nose and skin tone, with grey hair in your own hairline, lines round the eyes and the same glasses if you wear them, in a charcoal jacket of the same cut. The rescuer is always older than you, never younger, and nobody falls: the video always ends safe on the ledge. Pick Storm sea cliff for surf and spray under a stormy sky, or Misty mountain for a granite ledge above a valley of cloud at dawn.

No. We only go forward in time: the one hanging is always you as you are in the photo, and the rescuer is always older. We never make a child version of anyone, and a childhood photo won't work.
Does anyone fall?
No. Once the hands meet, the grip holds all the way up and the video ends with both of you kneeling safely on the ledge. There are no injuries, and no ropes or climbing gear in the shot.
Will both of them look like me?
That's the aim: both faces come from your one photo, and the older one keeps your face shape, eyes, nose, skin tone and glasses, with grey hair and lines added. The red and charcoal jackets keep the two of you apart. A sharp, front-facing, evenly lit photo works best; every AI video varies a little, so watch yours before you post.
