What is the Perdón Trend AI trend?

The perdón trend is a photo carousel that opens with an impossibly perfect AI photo of you, captioned "esta soy yo" (this is me), and ends with your real, everyday photo and one word: "perdón" (sorry). On Jump on the Trend you add the real photo and get the lie back: you as a floodlit stadium star, a hero firefighter at sunset and a vampire aristocrat in a costume too lavish to be homemade, with a free preview of the first.

It's a Spanish-language trend that went big in mid-October 2026. According to MakeViral, a competitor that tracks TikTok, a creator in Argentina posted an AI photo of a field hockey star version of themselves followed by the real one on 13 October, and it reached 4.5 million views by 19 October. Within two days a jiu-jitsu competitor in Mexico (4.2 million views) and firefighters in Chile (4.3 million) had posted their own on the same sound, and on 17 October a Mexican post of a chihuahua, first as an AI "princess" and then as itself, reached 6.6 million views and 2 million likes. The hashtag #perdontrendia started on 18 October, and the same weekend an English Halloween version took off as the "I'm so sorry I lied" trend: a luxury costume first, the homemade one last. MakeViral counted about 148,200 videos on the sound by 21 October (their count; we don't read TikTok directly).

The joke only works if the perfect photo is unmistakably you, so ours keeps your face exactly as it is: same features, same age, same expression, no beauty filter and no slimming. Everything else gets the upgrade: the light, the place, the outfit and tidy hair. Then you post ours first and your own photo last. For a glossier magazine version of yourself, try Fashion Editorial; to be the hero of a blockbuster, Superhero Movie Poster; and if you'd rather show the before and after in one video, Glow Up does it in a few seconds. Instant Photo Together is the opposite mood: a candid flash snapshot with someone you love.

Is the Perdón Trend trend still growing?

At its peak in Spanish-speaking TikTok and spreading into English. It broke in Argentina on 13 October 2026, the sound went from about 90,000 videos on 19 October to about 148,200 on 21 October by MakeViral's count, and the English Halloween version ("I'm so sorry I lied") started on 18-19 October. The Perdón Trend looks

One make gives you 3 photos, one in each look:

  • Stadium star: Waist up. The person is the star player in a huge floodlit stadium at golden hour, standing on the green pitch with a plain, unbranded field hockey stick resting on one shoulder, looking into the camera with their own expression. They wear a plain deep-blue sports shirt with white trim: no crest, badge, logo, sponsor, number or lettering anywhere. Their own hair, just neat and tidy. Behind them the stands are a far, soft, out-of-focus blur of colour with no faces visible, and no teammates. Warm low sun and floodlights give a glowing rim light on their hair. Triumphant, like an official team portrait. No text.
  • Hero firefighter: Waist up. The person is a heroic firefighter at sunset, a plain helmet tucked under one arm so their hair and face show fully, looking straight at the camera with their own expression. They wear a spotless tan turnout coat with grey reflective bands and no badge, patch, name, number or lettering. A light dusting of soot on the coat sleeves; their face stays clean. Behind them, far out of focus, a red fire engine is only a blur of red and chrome with no writing, under a glowing orange sky. Warm rim light from the setting sun. Photoreal and heroic. Nobody else, no text.
  • Luxury costume: Waist up, a Halloween costume so lavish it looks professionally made: an elegant vampire aristocrat in a black velvet cape with a tall collar lined in crimson satin, a high-necked embroidered burgundy waistcoat or gown, fine lace cuffs and a silver brooch. Their own hairstyle, not slicked back. No fangs, blood, pale makeup, dark lipstick or face paint. They stand in a grand candlelit gothic hall with stone arches, tall candles and a little mist, looking into the camera with their own expression and a regal posture. Warm candlelight on the face with a cool blue rim light. No text.

The Perdón Trend AI prompt

Want to do it yourself? Paste this into any image model that accepts your photo (Gemini, ChatGPT and others), with a clear, front-facing photo attached:

Create a new 9:16 photograph of the person in my uploaded photo: Waist up. No text. Style: A photoreal, too-perfect-to-be-true editorial portrait at 85 mm: cinematic light with a soft fill on the face, shallow depth of field, rich colour, a crisp expensive finish. The polish is all in the light, place, outfit and tidy hair; the face is untouched, so it is clearly them on an impossibly good day. Keep their face exactly as in the photo (same features, skin tone and hair), natural skin, no filter, no extra people.

For the other looks, swap the scene for one from the list above. If the face drifts, add a second photo from another angle and ask it to keep the face exactly as in the photos.

Perdón Trend FAQ

Is the Perdón Trend AI photo free?

You can see a free, watermarked preview of yourself first. The full set is 3 photos (Stadium star, Hero firefighter, Luxury costume) for 15 credits, about $1.40 to $2, charged only for photos that come out right.

What is the Perdón Trend AI prompt?

It's on this page under "The prompt": copy it into any image model that accepts your photo. Or press Make here, and we run it on your photo, check the face and give you every look at once.

Can I turn my Perdón Trend photo into a video?

Yes. Press "Make it move" under any photo for a 5-second video of it (50 credits).

What happens to my photos?

They are stored privately, sent to the model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted after 30 days.

How do I do the perdón trend?

Add one real, everyday photo of yourself. You see a free, watermarked preview of the stadium-star look; if you like it, you get all three looks at 5 credits a photo (15 for the set). Post the AI photo first with "esta soy yo", any in-between slides you like, and your real photo last with "perdón".

What does "perdón" mean in the trend?

It's Spanish for "sorry": sorry for the lie. The first slide says "esta soy yo" (this is me) over the perfect AI photo; the last one admits the truth. Some posts say "lo siento" instead, and the English Halloween version says "I'm so sorry I lied".

Is the "I'm so sorry I lied" trend the same thing?

It's the English Halloween spin on it, from 18-19 October 2026: a costume so lavish it looks professionally made, then the homemade one. Our luxury-costume look is that first slide.

Will it still look like me?

That's the point, so yes: your face, age, expression, hair colour and build stay as in your photo, with no beauty filter. Only the light, the place, the outfit and your hair's tidiness get the upgrade. Check the free preview before you pay.

Can I do the perdón trend with my dog or cat?

The pet version (an AI "princess" first, the real pet last) is one of the biggest posts of the trend, but this template is for people. For a pet in a perfect pose, see our pet templates.

Can I make it move?

Yes. Make it move turns any of the three photos into a 5-second video for 50 credits: the camera pushes in and you give the camera one small, proud nod.

Which sport is the stadium look?

Field hockey, after the post that started it in Argentina, in a plain kit with no club crest, sponsor or number, so it's yours and nobody else's.

Can I make one of my child?

No. This template is for adults only: use your own photo, or another adult's who's happy for you to use it.
