What is the AI Chicken Dance AI trend?
The AI chicken dance is the October 2026 TikTok trend where a white hen in green track shorts dances a Nigerian dance challenge: quick stepping kicks, one foot flicking out on every beat, and both arms punching forward at chest height, in a sunny village yard with a black pot on a wood fire behind it. Here you add one photo and get a 10-second vertical video of you doing it in a white hen costume, your own face framed by the hood; there's a free preview still first, and the video is 100 credits ($6.99).

The dance came first. According to MakeViral's page on the trend (read 24 Oct 2026), a Nigerian DJ from Badagry posted the beat as an original TikTok sound on 22 July 2026, Nigerian dancers turned it into a challenge, and one dancer's take posted on 23 September passed 2.1 million views. Then the AI-animal account @sinna2.2, which posts to Ghanaian and Ivorian TikTok, gave the dance to a hen: a first one on a raft on 2 October, then, on 19 October, the hen in the village yard, with a twin hen jumping in halfway through. MakeViral counts 802,000 views, 125,500 likes and 12,000 shares on that reel by 23 October, and says TikTok labels it AI-made. The comments are half the joke: people tag the real dancers to come and see their "student", and warn the hen that December is near and the pot is already on the fire.
Our version keeps what makes it the trend in one second: the white hen look (feathered suit, red comb and a little yellow beak on the hood, green shorts with white side stripes, orange chicken feet), the red-earth yard with the coop, the banana trees and the pot, and the fast, punchy kicks. What it doesn't do is turn your face into a bird's. The hood frames your own face, hair at its edge, facial hair and glasses, with the expression from your photo, so friends know it's you from the first frame. Pick You and a friend, two hens to dance side by side in sync, or Your cat or dog for your pet on its hind legs in the little green shorts, the whole animal as it is in the photo.
It isn't the old Chicken Dance. That one is Werner Thomas's 1957 accordion tune "Der Ententanz" (the duck dance), the wedding and Oktoberfest dance of beak-snapping hands, flapping wings and a wiggle down low (Wikipedia). If flapping elbows is what you want, Funny Dance has the chicken-wing arms; for a straight-faced party dance try Subject 3 Dance or Drunk Dance, and for pets in sync, La Calabaza.
Is the AI Chicken Dance trend still growing?
Rising. The hen reel went up on 19 Oct 2026 and copies followed the next day; as of 24 Oct the sound behind it was still adding about 1,100 TikTok videos a day (MakeViral, read 24 Oct 2026). Early in the wave: a good week to post one.
How to do the AI Chicken Dance trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.
AI Chicken Dance mixes
- You
- You and a friend, two hens: Duo version: two people, the first on the left and the second on the right, an arm's length apart, both in the hen costume and head to toe in frame the whole clip, dance the same steps in perfect sync and freeze in the same proud pose. Exactly two dancers, never blended
- Your cat or dog: No person anywhere: the pet, the whole animal at its own build, stands upright on its hind legs in the little green shorts and nothing else. Its back legs kick out in turn and its front paws punch forward on the beat, and at the end it freezes, chest out, looking at the lens
Photo tips for AI Chicken Dance
- One clear, front-facing photo of you in good light: the hood frames your face, so your face and glasses are what make the hen you.
- Look straight at the camera; a big grin in the photo gives you a grinning hen.
- No sunglasses, hats or hoods in the photo: the hen hood goes on top.
- For the duo, one photo per person, each face clear.
- For a pet, one sharp daylight photo with its face and whole body in view.
- Only use photos of adults who are happy to star in it, or your own pet.

What is the AI chicken dance trend?
An AI video trend from October 2026: a white hen in green track shorts dances a Nigerian dance challenge, fast stepping kicks with both arms punching forward, in a sunny village yard with a black pot on a wood fire behind it. The best-known reel, by the AI-animal account @sinna2.2, was posted on 19 Oct 2026 (MakeViral, read 24 Oct 2026).
How do I make the AI chicken dance with my face?
1. Add one clear, front-facing photo of yourself. 2. Check the free preview still of you in the white hen suit in the village yard. 3. Make the 10-second video. No prompt to write, no editing. Then post it with the trend's sound.
Do I turn into an actual chicken?
No. You wear the hen: a white feathered suit, a hood with a red comb and a small yellow beak above your forehead, green track shorts and orange chicken feet. Your own face stays uncovered in the hood, with your hair at its edge, your glasses and the expression from your photo, so everyone can tell it's you.
Can my dog or cat do the chicken dance?
Yes. Pick Your cat or dog and add a photo with its face and body in view. Your pet comes back as itself, the whole animal, up on its hind legs in little green track shorts, kicking and punching its front paws to the beat. Pets vary more from run to run than people, so check the free preview first.
Can I do it with a friend?
Yes. Pick You and a friend, two hens, and add one photo of each of you. You dance side by side in matching hen suits, in sync, and freeze in the same pose at the end. In the original reel, the second hen jumping in is the bit everyone comments on.
How much does it cost?
The preview still is free. The 10-second video is 100 credits ($6.99), vertical 9:16.
Does it come with the song?
No. The video is silent: add the trend's sound in TikTok, or whichever app you post to, so it lands in the trend's feed.
Is this the same as the old Chicken Dance?
No. The old Chicken Dance is Werner Thomas's 1957 tune "Der Ententanz", the wedding dance with beak-snapping hands and flapping elbows. This trend is a fast stepping-kick dance from a 2026 Nigerian dance challenge. For flappy chicken-wing arms, try Funny Dance.
Why is there a pot on the fire?
It's in the original reel's village yard, and it's the comment-section joke: people warn the hen that December is coming and the pot is already on. In our video the pot just sits on the fire as scenery.
