What is the Uptown Funk Dance AI trend?
The Uptown Funk AI trend is the October 2026 video where a crew in sharp retro suits struts and dances down a sunny old city street: a confident look at the camera, two big strutting steps, shoulder pops and finger snaps, a point at the lens and a tug on the lapels to finish. Here you add one photo and get a 10-second vertical video of you leading it in a cream suit with wide lapels, your own face, hair and glasses, on a brown-brick street with striped awnings and a vintage car at the curb. There's a free preview still first, and the video is 100 credits ($6.99).

It started as a joke about famous faces. According to MakeViral's page on the trend (read 24 Oct 2026), an AI creator posted a two-minute AI remake of the 2014 "Uptown Funk" video on X and Bilibili on 7 October 2026, with the crew played by AI look-alikes of well-known tech bosses. A Taiwanese TikTok repost followed, Google searches for "uptown funk ai" began on 9 October, and media.io and other AI video sites put up Uptown Funk pages around 19 October. Then people did the obvious thing and put themselves in the lead: on 21 October a Colombian creator posted his own version, himself up front with a row of cat-headed backing dancers, and passed 29,000 views and 5,696 likes in a day (MakeViral's counts).
We don't make videos of famous people, so this version is about you. It keeps what makes the trend readable in one second: the colour-coded retro suits (cream for the lead, mustard and burgundy for the crew), the strut toward the lens with shoulder pops and snaps, and the sunny retro street. Your face keeps the expression from your photo. Pick You and a friend for a two-person strut, Your crew of three for the full V formation with the lead in front, or Your cat or dog for your pet on its hind legs in a little cream suit jacket, the whole animal as it is in your photo (a nod to the cat-headed crews). The moves are the trend's street-crew moves, not the official video's choreography.
The song isn't in the video: you get an original funk groove, and you add the "Uptown Funk" sound in TikTok or Instagram when you post, which is also how your video lands in the trend's feed. For more strut, try C-Walk Dance or Hip Hop Dance; for another 2010s hit turned AI dance, Gangnam Style Dance; and for a group party, Party Viral Dance.
The song and the original
"Uptown Funk" is Mark Ronson's 2014 single featuring Bruno Mars, a playful, boastful funk-pop record about style, confidence and showing off (Wikipedia, read 24 Oct 2026). Our video doesn't include it: add the sound in the app you post to.
Is the Uptown Funk Dance trend still growing?
Rising. The AI remake that started it went up on 7 Oct 2026, AI video sites added the template around 19 Oct, and own-face versions began on 21 Oct (MakeViral, read 24 Oct 2026). Early in the own-face wave: a good week to post one.
How to do the Uptown Funk Dance trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.
Uptown Funk Dance mixes
- You: Solo: one adult in the cream suit, the only one on the street from the first frame to the last, owning the whole pavement
- You and a friend: Duo: exactly two people, the lead in cream just right of centre, mustard close on the left and half a step behind, a small gap between them; once the music starts they move in sync and only the lead turns. Two distinct faces, never blended or swapped
- Your crew of three: Crew: exactly three people in a shallow V, close enough that all three fit the frame's width, the lead in cream in the middle front, mustard behind on the left, burgundy behind on the right, a small gap between each; once the music starts they move in sync, only the lead turns, and the push-in stays small so all three stay in frame. Three distinct faces, never blended or swapped
- Your cat or dog: No person anywhere: the pet at its real size and build, upright on its own furry hind legs in the little cream suit jacket; once it dances, its hind paws step, its tail swings, its front paws tap the air instead of snaps and its face stays to the lens through the turn; at the end one front paw points at the lens, then both front paws tug the lapels, with its own animal mouth

What is the Uptown Funk AI trend?
An AI video trend from October 2026: a crew in sharp retro suits struts and dances down a sunny old city street, set to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars's 2014 hit "Uptown Funk". It started with an AI remake posted on 7 Oct 2026 that cast look-alikes of famous tech bosses; since then people have been putting their own faces in the lead (MakeViral, read 24 Oct 2026).
How do I make the Uptown Funk AI video with my face?
1. Pick You, You and a friend, Your crew of three, or Your cat or dog. 2. Add one clear, front-facing photo per person. 3. Check the free preview still of you in the cream suit on the retro street. 4. Make the 10-second video. No prompt to write, no editing. Then post it with the Uptown Funk sound.
Is there an Uptown Funk AI prompt?
You don't need one here: the scene, suits, moves and camera are built in. If you want to write your own elsewhere, the trend comes down to a crew in colour-coded retro suits on a sunny brown-brick street, a strut toward the camera with shoulder pops and snaps, a point at the lens, and a lapel tug to finish, filmed in one shot that pushes in from full length to knees up.
Can I make one with my friends?
Yes. You and a friend gives two of you side by side, you in cream and your friend in mustard. Your crew of three puts you in front in a V with mustard on your left and burgundy on your right, all moving in sync. One photo per person.
What's the cat version of the Uptown Funk trend?
Some creators gave their backing dancers AI cat heads. We don't stick animal heads on people; instead, Your cat or dog puts your actual pet in the lead, upright on its hind legs in a little cream suit jacket, the whole animal as it is in your photo. Pets vary more from run to run than people, so check the free preview first.
Can I make the tech CEO version?
No. We don't make videos of real, famous people, and you should only use photos of yourself or adults who are happy to star in it. Your version keeps the strut, the suits and the street with your own face in the lead.
Does it come with the Uptown Funk song?
No. The video has an original funk groove with no singing. Add the "Uptown Funk" sound in TikTok, Instagram or whichever app you post to, so your video lands in the trend's feed.
Are these the moves from the official music video?
No. They're the AI trend's street-crew moves: the strut, shoulder pops, snaps, a quick turn, a point at the lens and the lapel tug. Nobody here is linked to the song's artists or labels.
How much does it cost?
The preview still is free. The 10-second video is 100 credits ($6.99), vertical 9:16.
