What is the Pull Out of the TV AI trend?

Pull Out of the TV is a 10-second vertical AI video made from two photos: someone you love is on your TV against a plain blue backdrop, they reach out through the screen, you grab their arm and pull, a violet spark glow runs round the TV frame, and they step out into your living room and hug you, both of you laughing at the camera. Add the two photos, see a free preview still of the two of you in the room in about a minute, then make the video for 100 credits ($6.99).

It's the trend people are copying this week from an AI template called "TREND DA TELEVISÃO" (Portuguese for "the TV trend"); French posts call it "sortir quelqu'un de la télé", pulling someone out of the TV. According to MakeViral, a French how-to for it, posted on 22 October 2026, had 106,400 views by 23 October, while the template itself had only 59 uses: a trend at its very start.

There are four versions: With a friend (a fist bump through the glass first, then the pull and a big friends' hug), Couple (palm to palm on the screen, then a long, close hug), Halloween night (the room lit by smiling carved pumpkins, a purple screen, still funny rather than scary) and Your pet (your dog or cat pushes its paws through the screen and you scoop it out into your arms). Photo 1 is you in the room; photo 2 is who comes out of the TV. Your faces, hair, facial hair and glasses come from your photos, and you keep your own clothes.

Why it works: it's a video message with a twist. Instead of a friend or partner waving from a phone screen, they come through it, and the pull and the hug land in the last few seconds, which is what people rewatch. Post it on a birthday, an anniversary, the day they fly home, or just to say you miss them; tag them so they can make one back with the photos swapped.

Yes, someone climbing out of a TV is also a famous horror-film scene. This is the opposite: a bright room, an upright step out and a hug. For a scare, try Halloween Movie Night; for more of a hug, AI Hug; and if you like things bursting out of screens, 4D Cinema sends a wave out of a cinema screen at you.

Very early. As of 24 Oct 2026 the only numbers we can source are MakeViral's: one French how-to at 106,400 views a day after it was posted and a template with 59 uses. It's a two-person format with a built-in hug, the kind that travels in couples' and friends' feeds, and it lands a week before Halloween.

How to do the Pull Out of the TV trend: by hand or in one click

By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.

Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.

Pull Out of the TV mixes

  • With a friend: Two friends. Before the reach, the one on the TV taps a fist on the inside of the glass and the one in the room bumps it back from outside. The one in the room grips the reaching arm at the wrist; the one on the TV steps out upright, one leg over the bottom edge, then the other. The end is a big friends' hug, an arm round each other's shoulders
  • Couple: A couple. The one in the room holds a palm flat to the glass and the one on the TV matches it from inside, then reaches out; the one in the room grips the reaching arm at the wrist, and the one on the TV steps out upright, one leg over the bottom edge, then the other. The end is a long, close hug, cheek beside cheek, both faces still to the camera; no kiss
  • Halloween night: the room is cosy and lit warm orange by a row of smiling carved pumpkins with candles on the TV unit and orange string lights, bright enough that both faces are clear; the TV's backdrop is deep purple instead of sky-blue, and the glow round the frame is orange and violet. The one in the room grips the reaching arm at the wrist; the one on the TV steps out upright, one leg over the bottom edge, then the other. Fun, not scary: both stay themselves in their own clothes, and hug laughing at the end
  • Your pet: A person and a pet. The one on the TV is the pet, the whole animal with its own coat, markings, face and size: it pushes both front paws out through the glass, the person scoops it out under the front legs and sets it down on the rug, then picks it up and holds it against their cheek at the end, both facing the camera. The pet keeps its own four paws and tail

Photo tips for Pull Out of the TV

  • Photo 1 is you, in the room; photo 2 is who comes out of the TV. Swap the photos to swap who pulls whom.
  • One adult per photo, facing the camera, sharp and evenly lit, chest up or closer; for the pet version, one clear photo of the whole animal.
  • Pick photos where you're both smiling: your expression carries over.
  • Keep your glasses on if you wear them; take off sunglasses and hats.
  • You both keep the clothes in your photos, so pick photos that show what you'd like to wear.
  • Adults only, and only photos of people who said yes to being in it.

You can preview yourself in the Pull Out of the TV scene free. The full video costs 100 credits, charged only when it's ready. Credits come in packs from $6.99 for 100 and work on any trend.

Which app makes the Pull Out of the TV AI video?

Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.

How many photos do I need for Pull Out of the TV?

One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 2. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.

What happens to my photos?

They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.

How do I make the pull out of the TV video?

1. Add two clear photos: photo 1 is you, in the room; photo 2 is who comes out of the TV. 2. Pick With a friend, Couple, Halloween night or Your pet. 3. Check the free preview still of you both in the room. 4. Make the 10-second video: the reach through the screen, the pull, the sparks and the hug. No prompt to write, no editing.

How much does it cost?

The preview still is free. The video is 100 credits ($6.99), vertical 9:16, ready for TikTok, Reels, Shorts or the group chat.

What does "trend da televisão" mean?

It's Portuguese for "the TV trend", the name of the AI template the trend started from (made 1 April 2026, according to MakeViral). French posts call it "sortir quelqu'un de la télé", pulling someone out of the TV.

Which photo goes where?

Photo 1 is you, standing in the room by the TV. Photo 2 is the person (or pet) on the screen who climbs out. Swap them to swap roles, so they can pull you out of their TV next.

Can I pull my dog or cat out of the TV?

Yes: pick Your pet. Photo 1 is you, photo 2 is your pet, the whole animal. It pushes its front paws through the screen, you scoop it out and hold it up to your cheek at the end.

Is this the horror film one?

No. A figure crawling out of a TV is a famous horror-film scene, but this trend is the warm version: a bright living room, a blue screen, an upright step out and a hug. The Halloween night version adds glowing pumpkins and stays funny, not scary.

Can I make it from one photo of the two of us?

It works best with one photo per person, each face clear and front-on. If you only have one photo of you both, crop it into two photos, one face in each.

Who should I put on the TV?

Whoever you'd most like to pull into the room: a partner who's away, a best friend or sibling who lives abroad, a mum or dad. Use photos of adults who said yes to being in it; it's adults only, so no photos of children.

Can I write on the screen or add their name?

Not in the video itself: AI video garbles lettering, so the screen stays a plain backdrop with no text or channel logo. Add a caption, their name or an inside joke in TikTok, Instagram or CapCut when you post.

What clothes will we be wearing?

Your own, from your photos. A close-up selfie shows little of your clothes, so a chest-up photo gives the best match.

Does it have sound?

Yes, generated sound: a low TV hum, a crackle of sparks, a soft thump as they land and laughter, with no music. Add the trend's sound or any song in the app you post to, or mute it.
