What is the Phone on the Train AI trend?

How to make the Phone on the Train AI video, free, with one photo: add one clear, front-facing photo of just you and you get a free preview still of you on a night metro platform in about a minute. If it looks like you, make the 10-second video for 100 credits ($6.99). There's no prompt to write, nothing to film and no phone taped to a real train, and it works in a phone browser. ChatGPT can't make this video itself; here you can. The trend itself is a video shot from a phone stuck to the outside of a train window: someone sings into it from the platform, the train pulls out, they run alongside still singing, then fall behind. The clip at the top is Zooop's AI remake of the Paris metro version, with a different face; ours is a generic platform, made from your photo.

It started with musicians. On 15 Aug 2026 India TV reported a Punjabi singer, @iiktaj, who taped his phone to the outside of a train at Jalandhar City station, sang beside it and ran as it left, with a caption asking whoever found the phone to text him. Delhi Metro versions followed, including one by influencer Nikhil Kochar that reportedly passed 135 million views, and on 6 Sep 2026 the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation warned creators that sticking phones to train windows could injure passengers and that "necessary action" would be taken (IBTimes India). MakeViral dates a New York subway version to 26 Aug, whose caption gave the trend its name, and a Paris metro version to 3 Oct, with about 7 million Instagram likes by 12 Oct (8,379,768 when we read it on 29 Oct 2026); most use a live recording of Dua Lipa's "Training Season". AI copies followed fast, and on 15 Oct the New York creator most tied to the format, Ollie Muhl, spoke out against them (Wisevoter, 15 Oct 2026).

Ours is the generic format, not anyone's reel: a clean, unbranded elevated metro platform at night, the camera riding on the window, you singing, running and losing the race. Your face, hair, facial hair, glasses and your own clothes come from your photo. Never hold or tape a phone out of a real train: phones fall off, platforms have edges, and metro operators have warned against it. For more singing, try Ain't No Mountain Subway Singing; for more running, Long Legs Run; for a night out of a different kind, Concert Crowd Surf or Bodyguard Boss Walk.

Peaking. The format spread from India to New York and Paris between August and October 2026 and is now mostly made with AI, which has started a backlash from the creator most tied to it (15 Oct 2026). Four AI sites offer it (MakeViral, Media.io, vswp and Zooop, read 30 Oct 2026). Expect the AI versions to keep going while the real stunt fades under transit warnings.

Phone on the Train FAQ

Is there a free Phone on the Train AI video generator?

You can preview yourself in the Phone on the Train scene free. The full video costs 100 credits, charged only when it's ready. Credits come in packs from $6.99 for 100 and work on any trend.

Which app makes the Phone on the Train AI video?

Creators put their photo into the scene with an image model, then animate it with an image-to-video model. This page does both for you from one photo: a free preview still first, then the video.

How many photos do I need for Phone on the Train?

One clear, front-facing photo per person (or pet). This template has room for 1. Add up to 3 photos of each for a closer likeness.

What happens to my photos?

They are stored privately, sent to the video model through short-lived links, never used for training, and deleted with your video after 30 days.

What is the phone on the train trend?

A video filmed from a phone stuck to the outside of a train window. The creator sings into it from the platform, keeps singing as the train pulls away and runs alongside, then falls behind and drops out of the shot. It spread from India in August 2026 to New York and Paris by October, usually set to a live recording of Dua Lipa's "Training Season".

How do I make the phone on the train video with AI?

1. Add one clear photo of just you. 2. Check the free preview still: you on a night metro platform, seen from the train window. 3. Make the video: you sing, the train leaves, you run beside it and fall behind. No prompt to write and no phone taped to anything.

Is it free?

The preview is free: add your photo and see the opening still in about a minute. The 10-second video is 100 credits ($6.99).

What song is it?

Most versions use the live recording of Dua Lipa's "Training Season" from the Royal Albert Hall. Your video comes with generated sound (the train, footsteps, your singing voice) and no music, so add the song as a sound in TikTok or Instagram when you post.

Is this Ollie Muhl's video?

No. It's the general format, made with your own face on a generic, unbranded platform. Ollie Muhl is the New York creator most tied to the real thing; he has spoken out against AI copies of his videos (Wisevoter, 15 Oct 2026), so ours copies none of his reels or his look.

Is the real stunt safe?

No. Never hold or tape a phone out of a real train. Phones fall off moving trains, runners get close to the platform edge, and on 6 Sep 2026 the Delhi Metro warned creators it could injure passengers and that it would act against them. Make it with AI instead.

Will it look like me?

Your face, hair, facial hair, glasses, expression and your own clothes come from your photo. The free preview shows you before you pay. A sharp, front-facing photo with your face big in the frame works best.

Can I add the Eiffel Tower ending from the Paris reel?

Not in this one. Ours is a generic elevated platform at night with city lights behind, and it ends with you falling behind and the platform lights streaking past.

Can I do it with a friend or my pet?

This one is just you. For a pet in the shot, see the pet templates; for two people, try AI Hug.

Can ChatGPT make the phone on the train video?

No. ChatGPT can explain the trend, but it can't put your face into the video itself. Here you add one photo, see a free preview still, and make the 10-second video for 100 credits ($6.99).
