What is the Sidewalk Collision AI trend?
Sidewalk Collision is a 10-second AI video of you on a sunny city street. You stride toward the camera with a takeaway coffee in one hand and a phone at your ear, sunglasses hooked in your neckline. A passer-by clips your shoulder, and time almost stops: in bullet-time slow motion your coffee, sunglasses and phone lift into the air, the sunglasses spin toward the lens and the coffee splashes out of the cup in a crown of drops. Then it's back to normal speed, and you're standing there unbothered, hands empty, looking into the camera. To make it, add one clear photo of yourself, look at the free preview still of you on the street, and make the video. You don't film anything. ChatGPT can't make this video itself; here you can.

The format is older than the name. Picsart wrote it up as 'Floating Fall' on 25 Aug 2026 (someone walking with a phone and coffee who slips, everything floating in slow motion), and credited the version doing the rounds to the Instagram creator @pesochnitsa.ai, which it said had passed 37,000 plays. Kapwing's guide of 2 Sep 2026 calls it the viral AI bullet-time coffee trend, and 'bullet time coffee trend' is now a Google autocomplete. The Sidewalk Collision version, a street bump that sends the sunglasses and coffee flying, is a ready-made template: Zooop's guide to it is dated 2 Nov 2026, and our radar found it on both Zooop and media.io on 3 Nov 2026.
Ours is vertical (9:16) for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. We start on you mid-stride, face to the camera, and end on you too, so your face is in the frame at both ends; the slow-motion close-ups in between are of the coffee and the sunglasses. You can wear the template's cream blouse and navy trousers or keep your own clothes from the photo. The video comes with its own street sound and a slow music swell; you can add any sound you like when you post it.
Is the Sidewalk Collision trend still growing?
New: on 2 of the 14 remake sites we watch (Zooop and media.io, both first seen by us on 3 Nov 2026). Neither shows a use count, and the template's example clips are AI-made, so we give no view figure for it. The wider bullet-time format had a version past 37,000 plays on Instagram by late August 2026 (Picsart).
How to do the Sidewalk Collision trend: by hand or in one click
By hand: put your photo into the scene with an image model, regenerate until the face looks like you, give that still to an image-to-video model with the moves written out, then check the face holds to the last frame.
Here, in one click: add a photo for each person, see a free preview still of you in the scene, then make the video from it. You pay only when it’s ready.
Photo tips for Sidewalk Collision
- One sharp photo of an adult on their own, face to the camera, in good light. Your face, hair, facial hair and glasses come from it.
- Eyes clear: no sunglasses on your face, no hat, no filter. The template's sunglasses hang from your neckline and fly off in the bump.
- Your expression comes through: a calm or confident face suits the ending, where you stand there looking into the lens.
- Keeping your own clothes? A waist-up or full-length photo shows them best.
- One adult per photo (18+): you, or someone who said yes. Never a child or a stranger's photo.
