The three kittens dancing meme the dark triad cat dance
The three kittens dancing meme, also searched as three cats dancing AI and the dark triad cat dance, is an 11-second AI clip of three kittens dancing the same routine in sync, posted on TikTok by @meowtakeover on 28 Jun 2026 and at 107.4M plays on 16 Oct 2026. It's a slow burner: Google Trends only started logging searches for it in the week of 27 Sep, and they were still climbing, from a small base, in mid-October, so its stage today is rising. You can't make it on Jump on the Trend yet. Ask for it below, or put your own pets in a similar clip now, free preview first.
What is the three kittens dancing meme?
It's one short AI clip that the internet keeps reusing. On 28 Jun 2026, @meowtakeover, an account that posts AI-made kittens, put up 11 seconds of three kittens dancing the same routine in unison, captioned "Gatitos know the streets". Know Your Meme says the moves appear to borrow from choreography associated with the girl group KATSEYE, and Google also suggests "katseye cat dance". The clip passed 79.5M views in just over three weeks, by Know Your Meme's count, and had 107.4M plays, 10.6M likes and 4.5M shares when we read it on 16 Oct 2026.
Most people look it up as a meme rather than a trend. Google's suggestions on 16 Oct 2026 for "three cats dancing" were the meme, the GIF, the song, the original, a green screen, a sticker and AI. Nothing came back for "three kittens dancing trend" or "three kittens dancing ai prompt". People mostly want the clip itself, its music, or a way to use it.

Want the Three Kittens Dancing trend here?
It's the kind of clip we could add: one 11-second AI video with three animals and no people, and no film or TV footage in it. If we add it, your pets would take the three kittens' places, each one as the whole animal, and the clip's own sound would stay. Two things hold it back today. We only add a trend after we've checked a clean copy of the exact clip, and we want to see people putting their own pets in it first: in the posts we checked, people reuse the original kittens instead. Tap Ask for it to add your vote to the list we review each day, and leave your email if you'd like to hear when it's live.

| 5 Aug 2009 | Spinnin' Records posts an Afrojack remix of "Cool" by the duo Spencer & Hill on YouTube: the track behind the song people now call "Spencer Hill Cool". | 2.5M views |
| 1 Nov 2025 | A YouTube upload whose title starts "Spencer Hill Cool (DJ Aaron Remix Tiktok 2025)" names Spencer & Hill's "Cool" as the original and tags the remix as a 2025 TikTok sound, months before the kittens. | 461.5K views |

| 30 Jun 2026 | The first CapCut template posts Know Your Meme logs go up, inviting people to add their own clip; @everhardtflor83's caption credits the kittens to @meowtakeover. The same day @rioxrecords posts the "Dark Triad" edit, with a hardtekk track in place of the original music. | @kirana6816 4.6M, @everhardtflor83 5.1M, @rioxrecords 3.8M plays |

| Week of 27 Sep 2026 | Google Trends shows searches for "three kittens dancing" for the first time since at least January 2023 (worldwide, weekly). | 57 |
| Weeks of 4 and 11 Oct 2026 | Searches climb again. The week of 11 Oct, which wasn't over when we pulled it on 16 Oct, is already the busiest so far. | 77, then 100 |
Plays and views are TikTok's and YouTube's own counts, read on 16 Oct 2026; TikTok rounds counts over 1M to the nearest 0.1M. Google Trends figures are relative (100 = the busiest week in the range) for a small search term: they show direction, not size.
Three cats dancing AI: is it an AI video?
Yes. Nobody filmed real kittens doing this. Know Your Meme describes three AI-generated kittens and files the clip under AI kittens dancing, and @meowtakeover is the same account behind the AI kitten version of the Ramalama costume walk this Halloween.
So a search for "three cats dancing ai" or "3 kittens dancing ai" usually means one of two things: the original AI clip, or a way to make your own cats dance like it. The second wish is real. Google also suggests "make my cat dance ai", "ai video of my cat dancing" and "ai app to make my cat dance".
But in the posts we checked on 16 Oct 2026, Know Your Meme's examples and a YouTube search, nobody had recast this exact clip with their own pets. People reuse the original kittens: as a CapCut template over their own footage, as a green screen, or as loops with new music. That's the opposite of the pet trends we make, where people keep posting their own cat or dog in the clip. Here, the three kittens themselves are the joke.
Three kittens dancing song: what's the music?
The song people know as "Spencer Hill Cool" is a remix of "Cool", a dance track by the duo Spencer & Hill; Spinnin' Records has had an Afrojack remix of it on YouTube since 5 Aug 2009. Know Your Meme and the template captions credit the version in the kitten clip to GFY1994, and Google suggests both "spencer hill cool by gfy1994" and "spencer hill cool cat dance". YouTube's own suggestions also offer a "DJ Aaron remix", and the biggest kitten loop there calls it "Cool (That Or That)".
On the original post, TikTok lists the audio as a user's "original sound", not as the official track. If you post a version of your own, use the sound from the clip you're copying, so your video sits with the others on TikTok.
Why is it called the dark triad cat dance?
Because of an edit posted two days after the original. On 30 Jun 2026, @rioxrecords cast the kittens as "the dark triad", the psychology term for three traits, narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy, one per kitten, and swapped the music for a hardtekk track. It had 3.8M plays on 16 Oct 2026, and the name stuck: Google suggests "dark triad cat dance" and "dark triad cat meme".
Not every dark triad cat is one of these three. The label gets stuck on other cat edits too, and on YouTube "dark triad cats" also brings up a spinning cat. If the cat you saw was spinning, or on its own, it's a different meme.
Three kittens dancing on Google: late, small and still rising
Stage on 16 Oct 2026: rising, from a small base. The clip went viral on TikTok at the end of June, but Google Trends logged nothing for "three kittens dancing" until the week of 27 Sep (57). It rose to 77 the week after and to 100 in the week of 11 Oct, which wasn't over yet. The original has kept gaining plays too: 79.5M in Know Your Meme's July count, 107.4M on 16 Oct.
The trends we make move much faster. Across six AI video remakes in 2026, Google search topped out a median 4.5 days after the first AI version went up (how long TikTok trends last). This clip waited about three months for any Google Trends reading at all, and we don't know what set it off. So its search peak may still be ahead, but these are relative numbers for a small term: read them as direction, not size.
How to make your cat dance like the three kittens with AI
Only an AI recast puts your own cats in the dance, and on 16 Oct 2026 we hadn't found anyone posting one of this clip. The two shortcuts people use keep the original kittens, which are @meowtakeover's work, so tag the account whichever you pick.
- The green screen. @igreenscreenthings' 5 Jul copy has the three kittens on plain green, so an editing app can drop them over any video of yours. Your room, their kittens.
- The CapCut template. The 30 Jun and 7 Jul template posts ask for one clip of your own and dance the kittens over it. It's the quickest edit, and still not your cats.
- An AI recast. Tools that take a reference video plus photos can attempt it: the 11-second original, and one sharp, whole-body photo per cat. With three animals in one shot there's more to check: each cat keeps its own coat and markings, and none drifts back into one of the originals.
