Which app makes the AI trend videos?
There isn't one app. As of 16 Oct 2026 the AI trend videos in your feed come from three kinds of tool: template apps (CapCut is the one named most often in the posts we read), AI video tools that copy a clip's moves onto a new face (creators name Higgsfield's Genjutsu), and remake sites like this one, where the clip is already cut and you add a selfie. Most of the biggest posts don't say which they used, and several viral originals were made with AI in the first place.
Which app made each viral AI trend, going by the posts
Only what the creators, the apps or the press say. Plays are as we read them on 16 Oct 2026 unless the row says otherwise. Where a caption names no tool, we say so rather than guess.
| Trend | How the viral versions were made | On this site? |
|---|---|---|
| Bulin 47 | The original is a real street freestyle (2 Oct). The three most-played AI swaps we track (2.7M, 890K and 248K plays) don't name an app in their captions. | Yes |
| Hotel Lobby | The original is a 2022 studio performance. The most-played AI version we track (6.1M plays, 23 Sep) doesn't name an app. CapCut has a Hotel Lobby AI page, but it generates a new two-person clip in the same style from two photos and a prompt. | Yes |
| Rumpelstiltskin | The original is itself AI-made: a fake 1980s fantasy film posted on Instagram on 27 Aug by a creator and her AI course team. The two most-played AI recasts we track (5.4M and 3.2M plays) don't name an app. | Yes |
| I Wanna Love You | The original cat is AI-made, by an account that makes AI pet videos (1 Oct, about 22M plays). On the trend's hashtag page on 15 Oct, most posts were CapCut how-to tutorials. The most-played recast with a different cat (5.4M) came from an account whose posts end by promoting an AI video site. | Yes |
| Single Ladies dog dance | The owner's own how-to (6 Oct) shows the 43.5M-play original was made with Higgsfield's motion transfer: a reference dance video plus one photo of the dog. A CapCut pet-swap template for the routine was posted on 29 Sep (80K plays). | No |
| Tecktonik dance (Cheba Man) | A CapCut how-to (7 Oct, 699K plays) animates one portrait photo into the dance, using a rooftop DJ clip rather than the Cheba Man original. A version tagged with Higgsfield's Genjutsu (9 Oct, 491K) restages the routine on a new red-lit party set. | No |
| Storm II | InsideHook's writer reported seeing dozens of AI copies on 21 Sep, some crediting Higgsfield. One creator's version (30 Sep, 232K plays) says it was made with Higgsfield, using the original video as the movement reference. | No |
| Car Jump | A tutorial (28 Sep, 102K plays) uses Higgsfield's Genjutsu; the creator says they picked it because it needs no prompt. | No |
| Lion Friend | A one-photo CapCut template of the scene, 12 seconds long, with 4.27M uses. | No |
| Whiny Dog | The viral clip is the original Doberman video (23 Sep, 33.1M plays). The "Whiny Puppy AI" posts we found were template tutorials: one CapCut how-to (29 Sep) has 1.6M plays, and an 8-second CapCut template of the clip shows 81K uses. | No |
"Doesn't name an app" means the caption doesn't; a video can still carry an app's end card or watermark. Trends marked No aren't on this site, and nothing here makes them; a linked name opens our page on that trend. Every post and page behind this table is listed under Sources at the bottom.

Way 1: a template app, like CapCut
A template is someone else's finished edit with a slot for your photo. You open it in CapCut, add a picture and export. It's the quickest of the three, and popular templates get used millions of times: the Lion Friend one showed 4.27M uses on 16 Oct 2026. Templates bring tutorials with them, too: on 15 Oct most posts on the I Wanna Love You hashtag were CapCut how-tos.
The catch: you get the template maker's version of the trend, which isn't always the clip that went viral. The Tecktonik how-to animates your photo over a different video from the one millions watched. Play the template's sample to the end before you use it, because that's what comes out, with you in it.
Way 2: a tool that copies the clip's moves, like Higgsfield
These tools take a video as the reference and rebuild who's in it. Higgsfield's Genjutsu page (read 16 Oct 2026) describes keeping the movement and camera as filmed while you swap characters, outfits, places or objects from your own references. Creators name or show Higgsfield on four of the trends in the table: the Single Ladies dog, a Tecktonik version, Storm II and the Car Jump tutorial.
The upside is control. You can use any clip you can get a copy of, keep its exact moves and camera, and change more than the face if you want to. The setup is yours, though: track down a copy without captions, watermarks or a reaction face on top, trim it to the seconds people copy, tell the tool who gets replaced, and look over every attempt, since a likeness tends to slip when the face is small or turned away. Prices and free tiers change, so check the tool's own pricing page; we haven't listed them here.
Some tools can also generate a lookalike from photos and a written prompt instead of editing the real clip. CapCut's Hotel Lobby page (read 16 Oct 2026) works that way: it describes making an original two-person clip in an orange booth, and advises against copying the performance shot for shot. You get a clip in the trend's style, not the viral clip itself.
Way 3: a remake site, like this one
Remake sites do the setup once per trend: the clean clip, the cut, and which person each photo replaces. You add a photo and get the trend back with you in it. Some of the versions in your feed are posted by these sites' own accounts: the most-played I Wanna Love You recast with a different cat is one.
On Jump on the Trend you pick a trend, add a selfie (or a photo of your pet) and see a free preview still in under a minute. The full video is 100 credits ($9.90) whether it's one person, two or your pets, plus 50 credits for HD. It takes about 5–10 minutes and we email it to you. Credits are only spent once the video is ready, and they come back automatically if it fails.
The limits are real. You can only make the trends we've checked and put live, and it's a face swap: your face, hair, facial hair and your own glasses come from the photo, while the body, clothes, moves, camera and the clip's own sound stay. If you want a different outfit or setting, or a clip we don't have, a motion-copy tool is the better fit. Or suggest the trend with its link, and we'll look at it.
Side by side: what you add and what you get
| Way | What you add | Do you get the viral clip itself? | Need a prompt? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Template app (CapCut and others) | A photo, in the template's slot | Only if the template uses that clip | No |
| Motion-copy tool (Higgsfield's Genjutsu and others) | The clip, plus photos of who or what goes in | Yes, once you find a clean copy and cut it | Depends on the tool: the Car Jump tutorial used none |
| Prompt generator (like CapCut's Hotel Lobby page) | Photos and a written prompt | No: a new clip in the same style | Yes |
| This site | A photo of each person, or of your pet | Yes, cut to the part people copy, with its own sound | No |
From each tool's own page and the posts in the first table, read 16 Oct 2026. These tools change fast; this is how they described themselves that day.
How to tell which app made a video
Read the caption, then watch the last second. Template posts tend to carry tags like #capcut, #capcutpioneer or #pioneertemplate, and some people tag the tool by name (one Tecktonik version uses #higgsfieldaigenjutsu). Some recasts end on an app's end card or ad, as one creator's Rumpelstiltskin versions do.
Often the caption gives you nothing. None of the 14 AI versions of Bulin 47, Hotel Lobby, Rumpelstiltskin and I Wanna Love You whose captions we read on 16 Oct 2026, the most-played ones included, names a tool. Where there was a clue, it was somewhere else: an end card, or the account itself, like the AI video site's account behind the most-played I Wanna Love You recast. So the honest answer to "what app did they use?" is often: one of the three ways above, and they're not saying.
Before you upload a face to any of them
Whatever you use, only upload photos of adults who said yes, and read what the app does with them: who can see your photo, whether it's used to train AI, and when it's deleted. Here, photos are private by default, never used for training, and deleted after 30 days. More in is AI face swap safe?

Questions people ask
What app do people use to make AI videos on TikTok?
No single one. In the posts we read on 15 and 16 Oct 2026, the tools creators named were CapCut templates and Higgsfield, and an AI video site's own account posted one of the most-played pet versions. Most of the biggest posts don't name a tool at all.
Is there a free AI trend app?
Here, the preview is free: you see a still of yourself in the scene before paying anything. The video is 100 credits ($9.90), with no subscription needed. We haven't checked other apps' prices for this page, so look at each one's pricing page, and for a watermark, before you make anything. More in what's actually free.
How do I make those trending AI videos?
Pick the trend's clip, add a clear photo, check a preview, then make the video and post it. How to do the AI video trend on TikTok walks through each step, including adding the trend sound.
Can I make the AI trend with a CapCut template?
If someone has made a template for it, yes. Play the sample first: some templates use a different clip from the viral one, or animate your photo in the trend's style rather than putting you into the original.
What is the Higgsfield Genjutsu trend?
It isn't one trend. Genjutsu is Higgsfield's tool for rebuilding a video from your own references, and creators tag or name it on their versions of other trends: in the posts we read, the Tecktonik dance and the Car Jump stunt.
Do I need to write a prompt?
Not with a template or here. Some motion-copy tools work without one, as the Car Jump tutorial shows. Prompt generators need one, and what they make is a new clip in the trend's style.
Is Jump on the Trend part of TikTok or CapCut?
No. It's an independent site, with no link to TikTok, Instagram, CapCut, Higgsfield or the creators of the trends it covers.
