The 3D figurine AI trend two waves in September 2025
The 3D figurine AI trend turned one photo into a fake product shot of a collectible figure of you, boxed and on a desk. It took off in early September 2025, about a week after Google added a new image-editing model to its Gemini app on 26 Aug, and Google says it started in Thailand before India carried it worldwide. Worldwide searches for "ai figurine" peaked on 5 Sep 2025, peaked again on 11 Sep, and were down to a tenth by 17 Sep. On 16 Oct 2026 it's over. We don't make the desk figurine itself, but our AI Action Figure photo template boxes you up as a collectible toy from one selfie. Below: the dated route, the prompt people copied, and live video trends with the same feel, free preview first.
What is the 3D figurine trend?
It's a fake product photo with you as the product. You upload a clear photo, and the AI makes a picture of a small plastic figure of you standing on a desk, as if you'd just been manufactured. The details repeat from post to post, and that's what made the trend easy to spot in a feed: a round, clear acrylic base, a computer screen behind it showing the figure being modelled in 3D, and a toy box next to it printed with your original photo. DZRH, the Philippine broadcaster, summed up the set on 5 Sep 2025 as toy-style packaging, acrylic stands and a mock modelling screen.
People also call it the figurine trend, the figure trend and the 3D figure trend, and much of the press named it after Google's model. It wasn't only people. Pets, and scenes with several people, became figures too, and the example Google chose for figurines in its year-end list, on 29 Dec 2025, was a dog.
Stage on 16 Oct 2026: over. It was a September 2025 trend, and it has been over for about a year.

The figurine trend here: try AI Action Figure
We don't make the 1/7-scale desk figurine, but AI Action Figure is its close cousin: you, shrunk into a boxed collectible action figure, sealed in a clear blister pack on a printed card with tiny versions of your everyday things beside you. Add one photo and the preview is free. Some versions of the figurine prompt copied a real toy company's box style, which we keep out of anything we make. If it was the dressed-up, staged version of yourself you liked, Rumpelstiltskin does it as a video, and I Wanna Love You does it for your pet.
One trend, two search peaks six days apart
This trend rose twice. On Google's daily worldwide scale, searches for "ai figurine" were at 9 on 2 Sep 2025, jumped to 24 on 3 Sep and hit 100 on 5 Sep. They slid to 29 by 8 Sep, then climbed back to 75 on 11 Sep before the real fall. In all, there were seven days above half the peak, every one of them between 4 and 13 Sep.
The two peaks line up with the route Google describes. The first wave is Southeast Asian: DZRH's explainer and a Filipino YouTube tutorial calling it the trending figure on Facebook both went up on 5 Sep, CNBC Indonesia ran its how-to on 8 Sep, and Decrypt reported on 11 Sep that the Philippines had been the top country for the model's use in its first days. The second wave is Indian: Gemini became the No. 1 app on India's App Store on 10 Sep and on Google Play on 12 Sep, and its daily installs in India peaked on 13 Sep, according to Appfigures data in TechCrunch. Google's search data doesn't split the curve by country, so read this as a match of dates, not proof.
India's part still shows a year later. On 16 Oct 2026, YouTube's suggestions for "figurine trend" included the Hindi "figurine trend kaise banaye" (how to make it) and searches for Malayalam and Telugu versions.
Our lifespan guide dates the figurine peak to 11 Sep, because it measures a narrower search term that barely moved in the first wave and peaked with the second. Measured either way, it fell fast: below half by 15 Sep and to a tenth within days of that.
How the 3D figurine trend spread, date by date
Dates from the sources below. The view count was read on 16 Oct 2026. Google's image and user numbers count every use of the model, not only figurines.

Google Trends numbers are relative (100 = the term's own peak), worldwide, from our pulls on 15 Oct 2026 (daily, Aug–Nov 2025) and 16 Oct 2026 (weekly, 2023 to now). The Philippine ranking in the section above is Decrypt's; it links a report in Adobo Magazine, which we couldn't open.
The figurine AI prompt people copied
We tell this as history, not as a recipe. The version Google's Gemini account posted on 1 Sep 2025, as CNBC Indonesia quoted it, asked for a "1/7 scale" commercial figurine of the people in the picture, realistic, in a real setting. The figure stands on a computer desk on a round, clear acrylic base with no text on it. The monitor shows the figure being modelled in 3D, and next to it sits a collectible-style toy box printed with the original artwork.
Everything after that was a variation. Guides suggested asking for a PVC or polished-resin finish to make it look more real, an action pose instead of standing still, and a line telling the AI to keep the face unchanged. People added props like a coffee cup or a laptop, built scenes with several figures, or swapped in a pet. A year on, Google still suggests "3d figurine ai prompt", "gemini figurine prompt" and "figurine ai prompt reddit" (16 Oct 2026).
How to do the 3D figurine trend, the way people did in 2025
In general terms: open the Gemini app or Google AI Studio, upload a sharp photo with good light (Decrypt's guide suggested full-body), paste the prompt, and keep asking for changes until the figure looks right. In September 2025 the basic Gemini app was free with a daily limit on images, per Decrypt. Storyboard18 noted that people had tried figurine pictures in ChatGPT earlier in 2025, after its image update, but that Google's model is what took the look mainstream. Decrypt called it the third big AI portrait trend of 2025, after the Ghibli-style pictures in March and the doll box in April.
Because each picture is made from your own photo, every figurine is different. That's the opposite of a video remake, where everyone recasts the same viral clip, and it's why the trend had no single post to copy.
Is the 3D figurine real or an edit? And is there a video version?
It's an edit. The desk, the box and the figure are all generated, and Decrypt wrote that the pictures often fooled viewers into thinking they were real product photos. Turning a photo into a real figure is a separate thing, 3D printing: Google's suggestions for "3d figurine" now put "3d figurine from photo" and "3d figurine printing" near the top, and a YouTube test of making 3D prints with Google's image model, posted on 6 Dec 2025, had more than 255,000 views on 16 Oct 2026.
A video branch existed, though what we found of it is small. On 16 Oct 2026 Google suggests "3d figurine ai video" and "figurine ai video prompt", and Indian YouTube tutorials for turning the still into a short clip went up on 16 Sep 2025, after the second peak. The two we read had 83 and 100 views on 16 Oct 2026. The figurine was a photo trend at heart.
If what you want is yourself, or your pet, as the star of something that moves, that's what we make. The three below keep the real clip and its sound, and start with a free preview still in under a minute.
Live trends with the figurine feel, on video
None of these is a figurine, and we won't pretend otherwise. Each shares something with it: you or your pet dressed up and staged as the main character.
- Rumpelstiltskin Dance↗ Rising ≈57M views · 1–2 people · 9s You as a small character in a staged set. The figurine made a little collectible version of you; here you're the imp in a black velvet tailcoat, bow tie and pointed shoes, creeping through a dim hay barn, shushing, grinning and dancing on tiptoe. Like the figurine, the whole scene is AI-made: a fake 1980s fantasy film. The costume comes with the clip. Just you, or you and a friend as the imp and the maiden. See yourself in it
- I Wanna Love You↗ Rising ≈55M views · 1 pet · 10s The pet figurine, alive. Google's own year-end example of a figurine was a dog. Here your pet stands upright in a mustard corduroy suit, ruffled shirt and burgundy tie, films a night selfie by floodlit tennis courts, and sings with one paw in the air. Cats, dogs, any animal with a face. See yourself in it
- Burning Bridges↗ Rising ≈20M views · 1–2 people · 20s You as the centrepiece. The figurine put you on display; this puts you at the head of a chandelier-lit dinner party, silver cup raised, shading your eyes to look around the room while your friends point behind you. One photo of you is enough. See yourself in it
Where the 3D figurine trend stands on 16 Oct 2026
Yes, it's over. Three ways of searching for it on Google's worldwide scale: the first two against each term's own peak (100), the last against other trends.
| Search | Peak | Now |
|---|---|---|
| "3d figurine ai" (weekly) | Week of 7 Sep 2025 | 0 to 2 every week since mid-July 2026; 0 for the last three weeks |
| "3d figurine" (weekly) | Week of 7 Sep 2025 | 4 to 7 since August 2026. This term also covers 3D printing and figurine shops, so it never reaches zero: it averaged about 2 in the years before the trend. A rise to 12–19 from late March to mid-May 2026 wasn't the AI trend coming back, because "3d figurine ai" stayed at 1 to 4 |
| "ai figurine" (last 28 days) | 5 Sep 2025 (daily) | About level with "ghibli ai" in the 28 days to 16 Oct 2026, and both about a fifth of "hotel lobby ai", one of this autumn's live video trends |
Read the last row as a long tail, not a revival: Ghibli-style search is under 1% of its own March 2025 peak. Relative indices from our Google Trends pulls, not search counts.
Questions people ask
What is the 3D figurine trend?
An AI photo trend from September 2025: you upload a photo and get a picture of a small, realistic figure of yourself on a clear stand on a computer desk, with its 3D model on the screen and a toy box beside it. It peaked between 5 and 11 Sep 2025.
What was the figurine AI prompt?
The version Google's Gemini account posted on 1 Sep 2025 asked for a 1/7 scale commercial figurine of the people in the photo, on a computer desk, on a round clear acrylic base, with its 3D modelling on the monitor and a printed collectible toy box next to it. We describe it rather than offer it to copy.
Was the figurine trend made with ChatGPT or Gemini?
Mostly Gemini. The wave followed Google's new image model in the Gemini app (26 Aug 2025). Storyboard18 noted that some people had made figurine pictures in ChatGPT earlier in 2025, but it was Google's model that made it a trend.
Is the 3D figurine AI free?
In September 2025 the basic Gemini app was free with a daily limit on images, per Decrypt. On Jump on the Trend there's no figurine template; the closest, AI Action Figure, has a free preview.
Is the 3D figurine trend real or an edit?
An edit. The figure, the box and the desk are generated, though Decrypt wrote that they often fooled viewers. A real figure from your photo means 3D printing, which is its own search.
Was the figurine trend on Instagram or TikTok?
Both, and Facebook and X too. Storyboard18 described it spreading on Instagram and TikTok, DZRH said it ran from Facebook to TikTok, and Google's own account posted the prompt on X.
Is there a 3D figurine AI video?
Only as a side branch: tutorials from mid-September 2025 showed how to turn the figurine still into a short clip, and the ones we read had few views. For yourself or your pet on video, try Rumpelstiltskin or I Wanna Love You, free preview first.
Can I make the 3D figurine trend on Jump on the Trend?
Not the desk figurine itself. The closest is our AI Action Figure photo template, which boxes you up as a collectible toy from one photo. This page is here as a dated record of the original.
